Ledgerbound drops a new trailer, adds fresh voice talent, and brings back its pre-alpha demo on Steam for a short window
Ledgerbound’s mix of high fantasy, office politics, and turn-based tactics is back in the spotlight with a new trailer unveiled during the Women-Led Games Showcase: The Game Awards Edition.
The latest video for OmniMegaSuperCorp’s debut tactical RPG confirms new voice talent for the project and coincides with the return of a limited-time pre-alpha demo on Steam, available now through December 18, 2025.
The trailer highlights three additions to Ledgerbound’s cast: Melissa Medina, John Patneaude, and Craig Lee Thomas.
The game leans heavily on voice work and character interaction, so the announcement puts even more weight on its performances. Lead writer Karlie Angelis describes the tone as absurd but grounded, with character motivations and delivery built to keep the comedy feeling honest rather than sketch-like.
That focus on performance sits at the center of Ledgerbound’s pitch: a narrative-driven tactics RPG where a cast of coworkers argue, flirt, and stress over performance reviews as often as they trade blows with monsters.
Alongside the showcase, OmniMegaSuperCorp has reopened Ledgerbound’s pre-alpha demo as part of the Women-Led Games event on Steam.
This is a new iteration of the build that previously appeared in October’s Steam Next Fest, where it drew largely positive impressions and pushed the game past 20,000 wishlists. Feedback from that run has fed into the updated demo, giving players another chance to stress-test the combat and story pacing while the team refines the full release.
Ledgerbound is set in Eldarra, a high fantasy realm where corporate bureaucracy is not just a background joke but the backbone of society.
Magic powers everything from farm work to energy infrastructure, and some of the most prestigious jobs in the kingdom are insurance adjusters, not dragon-slayers. You play one of those adjusters, dragged away from a relatively comfortable desk job when an ancient threat and a looming performance review collide.
The Steam page describes the game as a hilarious, narrative-driven tactical RPG about balancing world-saving responsibilities with paperwork, quotas, and “quest-life balance,” underlining how tightly the setting is tied to the corporate satire.
Party dynamics are just as important as the worldbuilding. Ledgerbound builds its cast like a tabletop RPG group, with coworkers who feel more like a Dungeons & Dragons party than a traditional office team.
Between missions, players spend limited time in camp choosing who to talk to, unlocking bespoke conversations that deepen relationships and reveal more about each character’s goals and anxieties. There is even an HR-approved dating sim layer, which treats romance as another system to navigate under corporate oversight.
Combat, meanwhile, aims for compact battles with clear rules. Encounters play out on turn-based stages that lean on a rock–paper–scissors structure, encouraging players to read enemy types and build lineups that exploit predictable strengths and weaknesses.
High performers are rewarded with optional objectives set by the party’s HR representative. Completing these tasks grants vouchers that can be exchanged for “corporate swag,” gear, and perks that improve your squad’s effectiveness while reinforcing the game’s office culture theme.
With only so many hours in a workday, players have to decide whether to replay stages to optimize these rewards or spend that time strengthening bonds with their teammates back at camp.
For OmniMegaSuperCorp, founded in 2023 as a fully remote studio, Ledgerbound is both a first project and a clear mission statement. The team positions itself around narrative-forward design with a strong comedic edge, and the game’s premise, “heroic” insurance work in a collapsing fantasy economy, fits that focus neatly.
Ledgerbound was first announced in June 2025 and is currently planned for release on PC via Steam, with the final launch date still listed as to be announced. Below is the new trailer.
