Nintendo Switch Deals - August 06, 2026

Here are some heavily discounted turn-based RPGs for Nintendo Switch owners. This follows up on yesterday’s article, where I recommended a selection of PC titles. Today, there are 23 games worth checking out.

The U.S. Nintendo eShop currently has a varied selection of turn-based RPGs, dungeon crawlers, tactical adventures, and strategy games available at reduced prices.

Several full-length games have dropped below $10, while the largest discounts reach 90% off. Below is a closer look at every deal, including the regular price, current sale price, discount, and what players can expect from each game. Prices were checked on August 6, 2026 and may differ between regions or change when individual promotions end.

Darkest Dungeon

Darkest Dungeon

Regular price: $24.99 | Sale price: $3.74 | Discount: 85% off. Darkest Dungeon combines party-based turn-based combat with the psychological pressure of leading adventurers into increasingly dangerous expeditions.

Characters accumulate stress, diseases, negative traits, and lasting afflictions, forcing players to manage their mental condition as carefully as their health and equipment.

Permadeath makes every decision meaningful, while the need to rotate heroes between missions creates a demanding long-term management layer. Its bleak presentation and unforgiving systems make it an excellent choice for players who enjoy RPGs built around preparation, risk, and difficult recovery.

Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus

Mechanicus Review

Regular price: $39.99 | Sale price: $3.99 | Discount: 90% off. This tactical RPG places players in command of the Adeptus Mechanicus as its Tech-Priests investigate ancient Necron tombs.

Battles take place across grid-based maps where positioning, ability combinations, weapon selection, and resource management determine the outcome. Tech-Priests can be extensively customized with mechanical augmentations and equipment, allowing squads to develop specialized battlefield roles.

Decisions made during the campaign also influence its progression and conclusion, while the included Heretek content adds further missions and customization options. At under $4, it is one of the strongest deals in the current sale.

For The King

Regular price: $24.99 | Sale price: $4.99 | Discount: 80% off. For The King blends a tabletop-inspired overworld with turn-based battles and roguelite campaign structure. Players control a small group of adventurers moving between settlements, dungeons, encounters, and randomized events while attempting to prevent the kingdom from collapsing into chaos.

Equipment, healing supplies, money, and time are limited, encouraging careful route planning rather than unrestricted exploration.

The adventure can be played alone or cooperatively, with local and online options allowing different players to control individual party members. Procedural elements keep repeated campaigns unpredictable, especially when experimenting with newly unlocked characters and equipment.

Nexomon: Extinction

Nexomon Extinction Header

Regular price: $19.99 | Sale price: $4.99 | Discount: 75% off. This monster-collecting RPG follows a young Tamer attempting to restore balance to a world threatened by powerful Tyrant Nexomon.

Players can discover and capture 381 creatures spread across nine elemental categories, assemble a six-member team, and use their strengths and weaknesses in turn-based battles. Beyond its familiar creature-collecting foundations, Nexomon: Extinction offers a large interconnected world, side quests, optional areas, character customization, and a difficulty system that develops alongside the player. Its humorous writing also gives the adventure a lighter tone than its apocalyptic premise might suggest.

Demon Gaze Extra

Demon Gaze Extra

Regular price: $59.99 | Sale price: $5.99 | Discount: 90% off. Demon Gaze Extra is an enhanced version of the first-person dungeon-crawling RPG originally released on PlayStation Vita.

Players explore dangerous grid-based labyrinths, defeat powerful demons, and bind them to gain new abilities inside and outside battle.

Party composition is highly customizable, with different classes, equipment choices, and character roles available when building a group. Expeditions are balanced by time spent at the Dragon Princess Inn, where characters recover and interact between journeys. The game retains an old-school dungeon-crawler structure but introduces additional content and improvements intended to make the experience more approachable.

Labyrinth of Zangetsu

labyrinth-of-zangetsu

Regular price: $29.99 | Sale price: $7.49 | Discount: 75% off. Presented through a distinctive visual style inspired by traditional Japanese ink painting, Labyrinth of Zangetsu is a demanding first-person dungeon crawler filled with supernatural monsters drawn from Japanese folklore.

Players create a party of six adventurers, positioning three in the front row and three in the rear while assigning classes, abilities, and equipment. Exploration involves navigating dark corridors, uncovering traps, managing limited resources, and preparing for difficult encounters.

Its straightforward structure and unforgiving combat should appeal most to players who enjoy older dungeon RPGs where careful party construction and map knowledge are essential.

Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Mario + Rabbids

Regular price: $39.99 | Sale price: $9.99 | Discount: 75% off. Nintendo and Ubisoft’s crossover transforms the Mushroom Kingdom into a colorful tactical battlefield.

Players assemble a squad from Mario characters and their Rabbid counterparts, using movement abilities, cover, weapons, and character-specific skills to complete turn-based encounters.

The campaign alternates between combat, environmental puzzles, exploration, and collectible hunting across four themed worlds. While the bright presentation makes it approachable for newcomers, later missions demand thoughtful positioning and efficient use of each hero’s abilities. Additional cooperative challenges provide more tactical scenarios for two local players after completing parts of the main campaign.

Monster Hunter Stories

Regular price: $29.99 | Sale price: $9.99 | Discount: 67% off. Rather than hunting monsters, Monster Hunter Stories allows players to become a Rider who hatches, raises, and fights alongside them.

Battles revolve around a Power, Speed, and Technical relationship, with players attempting to anticipate enemy behavior and choose the appropriate attack type. Collected genes can be transferred through the Rite of Channeling, making it possible to customize a Monstie’s abilities and elemental properties.

This remastered release also brings the original RPG to a wider audience with updated presentation, additional voice work, and bonus archival material.

Goblin Slayer -ANOTHER ADVENTURER- NIGHTMARE FEAST

Goblin Slayer on Switch

Regular price: $39.99 | Sale price: $9.99 | Discount: 75% off. Set within the world of the Goblin Slayer light novels and anime, Nightmare Feast presents an original storyline centered on a newly appointed guild master and a mysterious artifact capable of resurrecting the dead.

Battles use a grid-based tactical system in which terrain, unit direction, character classes, traps, spells, and environmental conditions can affect the result. Familiar characters from the series appear alongside the new protagonist, each bringing specialized abilities to the party.

The game is primarily aimed at existing fans, although its standalone story and traditional tactical structure make it accessible without extensive knowledge of the wider franchise.

Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord

Wizardry Remake

Regular price: $39.99 | Sale price: $13.99 | Discount: 65% off. Digital Eclipse’s remake rebuilds the influential 1981 dungeon crawler with modern visuals while running on top of the original game’s underlying code.

Players create a party of adventurers and descend through a dangerous multi-level labyrinth in search of an amulet stolen by the wizard Werdna. Character creation, class selection, spell management, traps, hidden passages, and harsh consequences remain central to the experience.

Modern interface options make information easier to understand, but the underlying adventure remains deliberately unforgiving, preserving the sense of danger and uncertainty that defined the original release.

Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland

Atelier Lulua JRPG

Regular price: $59.99 | Sale price: $14.99 | Discount: 75% off. The fourth main entry in the Arland branch of the Atelier series follows Elmerulia “Lulua” Frixell, the daughter of established alchemist Rorona.

Her journey begins after she discovers a mysterious manuscript containing tasks and instructions connected to her growth as an alchemist. Gameplay moves between gathering materials, synthesizing items, exploring new locations, completing requests, and fighting monsters through turn-based combat.

The extensive crafting system remains the main attraction, with experimentation and item quality often proving more important than simply increasing character levels. Familiar faces also return to continue stories established in the earlier Arland games.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Regular price: $39.99 | Sale price: $14.99 | Discount: 63% off. Wings of Ruin expands the monster-raising foundations of the first game with a larger world, more detailed environments, additional Monsties, and a broader selection of cooperative and competitive activities.

Players take the role of a new Rider entrusted with an unusual Rathalos egg connected to a prophecy of destruction. Battles retain the Power, Speed, and Technical system while introducing coordinated attacks, weapon damage types, and party members who fight alongside the protagonist.

Egg hunting and gene transfer provide a substantial customization layer for players interested in constructing specialized teams rather than simply collecting every available creature.

Fairy Tail

Fairy Tail

Regular price: $59.99 | Sale price: $19.79 | Discount: 67% off. Based on Hiro Mashima’s manga and anime series, Fairy Tail follows the members of the titular guild through several established story arcs.

Players can form teams from a large roster of recognizable characters, complete guild requests, strengthen relationships, and work toward restoring Fairy Tail’s position among the most respected guilds in Fiore.

Turn-based battles emphasize magical attacks and coordinated techniques, with different characters filling offensive, defensive, and supporting roles. The game is clearly designed with existing fans in mind, but its mission-based progression provides a relatively accessible introduction to the setting and its central cast.

Monster Hunter Stories Collection

Regular price: $59.99 | Sale price: $19.99 | Discount: 67% off. This bundle contains the remastered edition of Monster Hunter Stories and the standard edition of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.

Together, the two games offer a substantial pair of creature-collecting RPGs built around hatching eggs, raising Monsties, transferring genes, and participating in turn-based battles. The first entry provides the introduction to the Rider concept, while the sequel develops its combat, exploration, and customization systems on a larger scale.

At their current individual prices, the two games would cost $24.98, making the $19.99 collection the better purchase for anyone who owns neither.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2

Fuga 2 Meelodies of Steel

Regular price: $39.99 | Sale price: $19.99 | Discount: 50% off. Set one year after the original game, Fuga: Melodies of Steel 2 once again follows a group of children caught in a military conflict involving enormous armored vehicles.

Battles are fought from inside the Tarascus, with players matching different weapons against enemy weaknesses and rearranging characters on a visible turn timeline. Decisions made during the journey influence relationships and the direction of the story, while the Soul Cannon and Managarm systems introduce severe consequences when the party is placed under pressure.

Its combination of mechanical planning and emotionally difficult choices gives the sequel a distinctive identity.

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3

Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3

Regular price: $39.99 | Sale price: $23.99 | Discount: 40% off. The third installment continues the wartime journey of the children after Malt disappears under mysterious circumstances.

Once again traveling aboard the Taranis, the group confronts the Berman Empire while searching for answers about their missing companion and the tank itself.

Combat expands upon the timeline-based system with weakness combinations, assist attacks, and additional ways to improve the vehicle and its crew between battles. Story progression and character development remain closely connected, requiring players to balance tactical efficiency with the relationships and emotional condition of the young protagonists.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 – Definitive Edition

divinity 2

Regular price: $49.99 | Sale price: $24.99 | Discount: 50% off. Larian Studios’ acclaimed RPG gives players considerable freedom in how they build characters, approach quests, and resolve conflicts.

The adventure can begin with a custom hero or one of several Origin characters who possess their own histories, objectives, and personal storylines. Turn-based combat is highly systemic, allowing elemental surfaces, environmental objects, movement skills, and status effects to interact in unexpected ways.

Dialogue choices and competing factions can significantly alter individual quests, while flexible character development supports unconventional party combinations. The Switch edition offers one of the most expansive traditional computer-style RPG experiences available on the platform.

Atelier Arland Series Deluxe Pack

Atelier Arland Series

Regular price: $89.99 | Sale price: $28.79 | Discount: 68% off. The Atelier Arland Series Deluxe Pack contains the enhanced DX editions of Atelier Rorona, Atelier Totori, and Atelier Meruru, together with a substantial amount of previously released downloadable content.

Each game combines turn-based combat with material gathering, alchemy, character events, and objectives that must be completed within specific periods.

The trilogy follows different protagonists while gradually developing the kingdom of Arland and its recurring cast. At approximately $9.60 per game, the bundle offers an economical way to experience an entire branch of the long-running crafting-focused RPG series.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III

Trails of Cold steel

Regular price: $59.99 | Sale price: $29.99 | Discount: 50% off. Trails of Cold Steel III moves the Erebonian storyline forward by placing Rean Schwarzer in the role of an instructor at a newly established military academy.

There, he leads a new Class VII while investigating political tension, military activity, and unresolved events connected to the previous games. Combat retains the series’ turn-based structure, combining character positioning, weapon-specific attacks, magical Arts, and coordinated abilities between party members.

Because the story directly continues earlier events and brings back a large number of established characters, it is better suited to returning players than those seeking their first entry in the wider Trails saga.

Super Robot Wars Y

Super Robot Wars Y

Regular price: $59.99 | Sale price: $35.99 | Discount: 40% off. Super Robot Wars Y brings together characters and machines from numerous anime properties within a crossover tactical RPG campaign.

Battles unfold on grid-based maps where players move individual units, select attacks, manage energy, and activate pilot abilities before watching elaborate combat animations.

Mechs and pilots can be upgraded between missions, allowing resources to be concentrated on favorite units or distributed across a broader roster. The Assist Link system introduces additional support options and character interactions.

Much of the appeal comes from its licensed cast, but the underlying tactical progression remains accessible even to players unfamiliar with every represented series.

Howl

Howl Switch

Regular price: $9.99 | Sale price: $2.99 | Discount: 70% off. Howl is a compact tactical puzzle game set in a medieval world devastated by a plague that transforms anyone who hears it into a monster.

The protagonist is a deaf prophet who is immune to the sound, allowing her to travel between settlements and search for a way to stop the threat.

During each turn, players plan several actions in advance before watching both the heroine and her enemies carry out their moves. This emphasis on prediction makes every encounter feel like a carefully constructed puzzle, complemented by a striking “living ink” visual presentation.

Faeria

Faeria on Switch

Regular price: $19.99 | Sale price: $4.99 | Discount: 75% off. Faeria combines collectible card-game mechanics with a tactical board on which players create the terrain needed to summon their creatures.

Building forests, mountains, deserts, lakes, and neutral land changes how units can move and where cards can be played, adding a spatial layer that separates it from more conventional digital card games.

The package includes competitive multiplayer, solo challenges, cooperative encounters, puzzle scenarios, and a draft mode. Although it is not a traditional RPG, its emphasis on deck construction, positioning, resource management, and calculated turn-by-turn decisions makes it relevant to strategy-focused players.

Shogun Showdown

Shogun Showdown

Regular price: $14.99 | Sale price: $5.99 | Discount: 60% off. Shogun Showdown is a turn-based roguelite built around positioning, attack order, and efficient combination of ability tiles.

Characters move along a compact battlefield while enemies approach from either side, forcing players to decide when to reposition, turn around, defend, or prepare an attack. Abilities are queued before being executed, making timing just as important as raw damage.

Successful runs unlock additional characters, skills, and upgrades that expand future strategies. Its streamlined rules create quick encounters, but later stages demand careful planning several actions ahead.
