The dark fantasy tactics game puts players in command of the evil side, with sacrifice, resurrection, magic, and tower upgrades shaping its turn-based battles.
Apprentice of Darkness has gotten its very first gameplay trailer, which is showing off some of the actual gameplay from this Dark Fantasy Turn-Based Tactics Game.

It is definitely NOT going to be your typical fantasy tactics game about rescuing the world. Instead, the player gets to experience being on the opposite end of the battlefield, leading the dark forces, and feeding them into a growing “Tower of Darkness.” As well, you have to defeat humans and various types of fantasy creatures that block your progress.
The trailer concentrates most on the tactical combat system, which takes place on a grid-based map.
In every turn, the focus is placed on magic (spells), the placement of units, and control of the battlefield. You’re taking control of a force of darkness through hostile land and by utilizing spells and dark abilities, breaking down the enemy’s line.

The sacrifice and resurrection mechanism appears to be the major hook for providing players with additional layers to work within their campaign.
Sacrificing parts of your team can provide players with a completely different view of the fight. When enemies aren’t simply blocks to your path, but instead potential food for future moves, then players begin to see battles in a whole new light.
The playable demo is set to allow players to test out many of the core gameplay systems, and ultimately receive an early look into what the world of Apprentice of Darkness has to offer. Unfortunately, no date for when exactly this playable demo will be available has been announced yet. Here is the Steam Page.
