Indie game studio Datadyne has officially launched the Kickstarter campaign for Forge of the Fae, a Celtic-inspired pixel art JRPG. Drawing from 1800s Ireland, the game immerses players in a world filled with steampunk technology, ancient magic, and the escalating conflict between humans and fae.

With a strong emphasis on narrative, Forge of the Fae invites players to guide Fiora, a young inventor, as she unravels a deep mystery and shapes the fate of two interconnected worlds through her decisions.

The game features classic turn-based combat with strategic depth, utilizing its unique “ARC Crystal” and “Adrenaline” systems for customizable abilities. In addition to combat, players will encounter challenging puzzles that reward exploration and contribute to the game’s rich lore.

A standout aspect of Forge of the Fae is its dynamic, living world, complete with day-night cycles, shifting environments, and NPCs following their own routines. Players can engage with side quests and discover hidden items as they traverse a world where choices and exploration significantly impact gameplay.

The Kickstarter campaign, live as of September 23, 2024, offers exclusive backer rewards, including early discounts, opportunities to design in-game elements, and a limited-edition physical art book. Stretch goals promise additional content, such as new abilities, mini-games, and expanded language support.
