Finally, I have great news to share regarding one of my most anticipated games of 2025. Promising Demonschool, the spooky school-life tactics RPG from Necrosoft Games and Ysbryd Games, announced the release date during Nintendo Indie World Japan.

Demonschool RPG

The game follows Faye, a first-year college student from a family of demon hunters, who starts seeing monsters straight out of ancient texts roaming the grounds of her island university.

Players spend their time balancing classes, friendships, and monster battles inspired by Italian horror cinema of the 60s and 70s and Japanese horror manga. Combat takes place on a grid where moving is the same as attacking, and each battle is built around positioning and party synergy.

There are 15 playable characters, each with unique abilities like Faye’s brutal kicks, Namako’s debuffs, and Destin’s knockback attacks. Party members can be trained, sent on side quests, and paired with others to unlock stronger combo attacks.

Battles are planned out in a phase where moves can be rewound and adjusted, then executed all at once in the action phase. Enemies range from twisted crawling creatures to massive skeletons and surreal bosses.

Demonschool combines 2D and 3D visuals for its world and battles, and supports English, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese at launch. The game’s Steam page is live for wishlisting ahead of release.

Demonschool will launch September 3 on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, below the release date trailer.
