Prelude: Dark Pain RPG with Blasphemous

I always like seeing indie collaborations that make sense, and this one definitely does. Developers QUICKFIRE Games and The Game Kitchen revealed a crossover between the dark tactical RPG Prelude Dark Pain and the action-platformer series Blasphemous. A free DLC is in the works, bringing characters from the twisted world of Cvstodia directly into the turn-based realm of Prelude Dark Pain.

The DLC will be available at no extra cost for all owners of the game after its full release. While we don’t have a release window just yet, the teaser trailer is already live, giving us a first glimpse of the crossover content. Expect new playable characters and references that fans of Blasphemous will instantly recognize.

For those who haven’t been following it: Prelude Dark Pain just ended a super successful Kickstarter campaign and is working towards a 2026 release. The game puts you in the boots of a blacksmith named Soren as he leads a group of over 20 playable characters in a dark, story-driven tactical campaign. There’s also strong talent behind the scenes — the soundtrack is being scored by Kumi Tanioka, best known for her work on Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles and Minecraft.

For the occasion, I’ve also put together a video overview to give you some details about the game; you’ll find it below.
