Owlcat Games used TurnBasedThursdayFest to roll out a new Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy trailer centered on Epione Spes, a Chirurgeon Medicae specialist who joins the acolyte roster in the studio’s upcoming cRPG.

Dark Heresy is a grimdark, party-based, story-driven RPG set in the Calixis Sector, where players investigate heresy, command a warband, and make choices across both combat and narrative sequences.
The new trailer shows Epione as a gifted medical mind shaped by hardship, someone whose knowledge makes her useful during the Inquisition’s investigations as well as on the battlefield.
In combat, her kit mixes recovery and aggression. She can keep allies functioning under pressure, but she is also built to operate at close range, using a flamer to punish enemies that push too near and a scalpel to strike at vulnerable points.
Regarding the game, Dark Heresy leans into turn-based encounters, companion specialization, and investigations that ask players to collect evidence, read situations, and shape outcomes through judgment calls, and Epione seems designed to support each side of that structure.
Players who want to try Epione early can do that through the ongoing alpha test on Steam, which is available to those who pre-ordered the Developer’s Digital Pack or Collector’s Edition through Owlcat’s website.
Warhammer 40,000: Dark Heresy is in development for Windows PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, with console versions also planned for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
