Tiny Metal is a fairly well-known, Advance Wars–style turn-based strategy series, put simply, with a cartoony look and a few distinctive twists for the genre. A few hours ago, Tiny Metal 2 was announced during Tokyo Game Show 2025.

Now, you might think Tiny Metal 2 is the second entry, but it’s actually the third. The series from AREA 35 debuted with the original back in 2017, then followed up in 2019 with Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble, which, unlike the first, was better received for its wealth of content and variety, along with the expansions released in the months that followed.
This third chapter expands the grid-based tactics series with naval combat for the first time, submarines, battleships, carriers, and transports, alongside more than 100 campaign and skirmish maps and 15+ playable commanders.

The story picks up years after the original, as Major Nathan Gries and the White Fang mercenaries are dragged into a larger conflict after a Corsario pirate ambush. Cinematics are produced by animation studio SAFEHOUSE, with Japanese and English voiceover confirmed.
Co-op is a core pillar this time. Every campaign map supports allied play, and many skirmish maps do as well. Co-op mechanics include lock-on/focus-fire attacks, shared income from captured facilities, ally resupply, and support powers.

Commanders apply passive unit buffs, and each has a unique “Ultra Power.” The official site adds that commanders can be upgraded to unlock unit customization and side-story content.
A refreshed art/UI, unit facing (front/side/rear effectiveness), tighter focus-fire timing that makes attack order matter, and the option to control two factions at once, mirrored in co-op by splitting command between players, are some of the news of this new chapter.
