Wright Flyer Studios sets a Summer 2026 window for the time travel turn-based JRPG, with full English VO and New Game+ endings.

Xenogears was undeniably one of my all-time favorite JRPGs, so you can imagine my reaction when I realized that Masato Kato, whose pedigree includes Square’s 1998 classic and more, was involved. My excitement went through the roof.

I’ve gathered initial information on this promising project, which is titled Another Eden Begins.

Another Eden Begins

Wright Flyer Studios has announced this new JRPG, which is a time-traveling, turn-based JRPG coming to Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC with a Summer 2026 release window. The project is being developed and published in-house, and it is positioned as a new console and PC release for the Another Eden universe.

Development is being led by Studio Prisma, a new internal team formed under Wright Flyer Studios.

Overview

Masato Kato is attached as scenario and direction, with his credits spanning Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, and Xenogears, which gives you a pretty clear idea of the kind of time scale and structure they are aiming for.

The official website spells out three headline eras. The “present” is AD 300, with Aldo living under the Miglance Dynasty in a world where people use a crystal substance called Prisma. The “future” jumps to AD 1100, where society has moved into floating cities to escape a polluted surface, with daily life centered around Elzion. The “ancient” era goes all the way back to BC 20000, ruled by the Palcifal Dynasty, with the four great spirits shaping the natural world.

Characters

Story-wise, with Aldo chasing after his sister Feinne after she is taken by the Beast King, then getting thrown through a spacetime tear into a future world roughly 800 years ahead. Another Eden Begins is built around classic JRPG pacing, with a long main plot supported by optional character arcs.

Looks like combat features are command-based and tied to symbol encounters, so fights begin when the party touches an enemy on the field. Role synergy, extra skills, and Another Force, a gauge you build through attacks, then spend to lock in a burst window where enemies cannot act while your party unloads a chain of actions.

If you have played other turn-based systems with limit breaks or overdrive meters, the design intent is similar, but here it sounds like the whole battle loop is tuned around filling and cashing that gauge at the right time.

Wright Flyer Studios is promising full voice acting for the main story, plus voiced companion content delivered through encounter quests, character quests, and bond-focused kinship quests.

The official site currently spotlights 17 characters, while the Steam page mentions 18 companions, which likely points to at least one recruit tied to late-game or New Game+ content.

It’s also mentioned that New Game+ will unlock after finishing the main story, carries forward your party’s growth, introduces a mysterious girl who pulls Aldo into a new journey, then branches into more than ten endings based on player actions and choices.

The announcement attaches Yasunori Mitsuda for the main theme, with Procyon Studio handling orchestration and folk instruments. On PC, the Steam page already lists Steam Achievements and Steam Cloud, and posts fairly specific specs, including 10 GB of storage, Windows 11, and performance targets ranging from 30 FPS at 1280×720 on Low up to 60 FPS at 4K on High with stronger hardware.

Language support is listed for Japanese and English with full interface, subtitles, and voice, plus subtitle and interface support for Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese.

Another Eden Begins is slated to launch in Summer 2026 on Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam. Below i share the announcement trailer.
