There’s something appealing about being the reason people are afraid to enter a haunted house. That’s your role in Deck of Haunts, and console owners now have a release date.
Mantis Games and DANGEN Entertainment have announced that the horror deckbuilding roguelike is coming to Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on October 8, 2026.

The console launch also includes more than a year of additions and changes introduced since the game’s May 2025 PC release. Those updates include new cards, creatures, rooms, missions, and game modes, as well as improvements to both mansion construction and controller support.
For anyone coming across it for the first time, Deck of Haunts puts you in control of the mansion itself. During the day, you arrange rooms and corridors to prepare for the next group of visitors.
At night, you use cards to frighten them, summon supernatural threats, and deal damage. Their essence helps expand your house, but investigators and priests can fight back. You also need to protect the Heart room, whose destruction ends your run.

More Ways to Build Your House of Horrors
One of the more interesting changes concerns how visitors move through the mansion. Larger rooms now keep humans inside for additional turns, giving you more time to use your cards against them. Smaller rooms have limited capacity, so overcrowding can push visitors into the next room.
Deck customization has expanded, too. The console announcement confirms additional starter decks and a Creative Deckbuilding option for assembling a starting deck from unlocked cards. Missions provide further cards, rooms, upgrades, cosmetics, and gameplay modifiers, while also revealing more about the house and its supernatural inhabitants.

For a tougher challenge, Nightmare Mode features 13 increasingly difficult Nightmares, each lasting 13 nights, with accumulating modifiers and new threats.
You can also collect victims’ souls to summon the Grim Reaper. Curated scenarios introduce specific haunted-house setups, while creatures such as the Imp, Webweaver, and Krampus provide additional ways to terrorize visitors. Krampus even turns corpses into presents for the house. Apparently, someone is already preparing for Christmas.
Controller improvements are another welcome inclusion, with recent PC updates refining menu navigation, card inspection, camera controls, and room placement.
Deck of Haunts will cost $19.99 on consoles, with a new console release-date trailer accompanying the announcement. The PC version is already available through Steam.
