Dominus Gladiatus has its first fight date. Brain Seal Ltd and PlayWay S.A. have confirmed the game will launch on 5th November 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch at a price of $19.99 USD. A free Steam demo is currently available.

I did the Dominus Gladiatus piece back in June when it was still aiming for a more general 2026 release. It’s from the same studio that did Dark Quest and Story of a Gladiator. You play as a ludus (a gladiator school) and the recruitment of promising fighters is only the start of the job.
Training, kit and facility upgrades all need to be addressed as do the morale, fatigue and injuries of the roster. There’s a very real temptation to keep your best man in the ring but that may well be the fatal mistake and could leave you with nothing of value in the school. Running a business in ancient Rome apparently comes with its own set of rather unpleasant staff issues.

Combat is in the form of tactical auto-battler duels and team battles. The tactics are all about preparation, with skills, weapons, armor, and formations dictating how the battles play out. 160-day tournament with 6 Domini (you pick one to lead your school, and the other 5 become your rivals with their own strengths and their own ways of trying to disrupt you).
The crowd also has a say in the proceedings. The devs have indicated that winning the crowd over can have an effect on whether or not a gladiator lives or dies, which is an additional worry beyond just having a good team together.
The free Dominus Gladiatus demo is available on Steam, where you can also wishlist the game in the run up to its November release.
