The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily Launches Today on PC
The Great Villainess: Strategy of Lily is now available on PC via Steam. Developed by One or Eight and WSS Playground and published by Alliance Arts, the turn-based strategy game introduces a unique blend of battlefield tactics, personality-driven narrative, and capture-based combat. A 10% launch discount is available until July 31.

The game follows Duchess Scarlet, a noble wrongly accused of assassinating the Emperor. Forced to flee the Imperial Capital, she teams up with Lily, a time-traveling strategist equipped with a powerful airship and a sharp mind.
Together, they lead a small rebel force against the empire, aiming to expose the truth and clear Scarlet’s name. The conflict isn’t just military, it’s a battle of information, influence, and trust.
At the center of the game is the Stream Airship, a tool that gives players a set of strategic options. These include disrupting supply lines, freezing enemy movements, and even persuading enemy forces to surrender.
Every action is tied to specific Streams, such as Stalling Stream to slow advances or Capture Stream to seize enemy generals during battle. These abilities allow for indirect, non-lethal strategies, though players can also choose a more aggressive path.

The goal in each map is not to conquer all territory but to break the enemy’s supply lines and target key commanders.
Holding outposts is only useful if they’re connected back to your headquarters; otherwise, your units lose support and become vulnerable. Supply management is key. Shifting focus, withdrawing from non-essential fronts, and concentrating attacks on isolated enemy generals is not only viable, but necessary.
Capturing enemy generals opens up new options. Each captured leader joins Scarlet’s side and brings unique abilities, new Stream effects, and tactical advantages. Executing them instead gives Scarlet and Lily more power in battle, but at a cost.
The story begins to change. Mercy leads to one kind of ending. Ruthlessness to another. The game tracks these choices and reflects them back as Scarlet and Lily’s personalities shift in response.

Overwhelming enemy forces, reinforcements, and surprise attacks make it difficult to defend every front.
The player is pushed to focus and adapt. Retreating is not a failure, it’s part of the plan. Winning often requires sacrificing territory to hold a critical position or isolate a single general for capture.
Combat units grow stronger over time. When certain pairs of allies fight together and survive multiple battles, their trust in each other increases. This unlocks unique bond-based Unison Skills, special team attacks, and boosts tied to the relationship between characters.
These moments are fully voiced and provide additional story context and personality development.
The game features voice support and text in English, Japanese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese. It is fully playable as a single-player experience, with no multiplayer component. Players can also purchase the Deluxe Edition, which includes a digital artbook and soundtrack, both also discounted during launch week.
