Bad Juice Games is releasing the first public demo for Hibera, Requiem for the Forgotten today, August 3, 2026. The demo will become available on Steam at 5:30 PM BST, giving players an early opportunity to experience the retro-inspired strategy RPG ahead of its full release.

A new trailer has also been published to coincide with the demo’s arrival, offering another look at its pixel-art presentation, characters, and grid-based tactical battles.
Hibera follows two groups of companions fighting on opposing sides of a continent-wide conflict, with its story shifting between Maebh, a young woman searching for a valuable relic, and Alto, a soldier unexpectedly placed in command during an ongoing military campaign.
Combat draws heavily from classic strategy RPGs, particularly the Game Boy Advance era of Fire Emblem. Players will recruit and develop a warband while navigating turn-based maps featuring terrain bonuses, fog of war, randomized stat growth, and a traditional weapon-triangle system.

Permadeath is also part of the campaign, making positioning and unit survival important considerations throughout each encounter.
The available arsenal extends beyond swords, axes and lances to include crossbows, polearms, early firearms, explosives and multiple forms of magic. Units can also carry a limited number of consumable items into battle, expanding tactical options when preparing for individual missions.
Hibera, Requiem for the Forgotten is being developed and published by Bad Juice Games for PC, macOS and Linux. The full game does not yet have a confirmed release date, but it can currently be wishlisted on Steam.
