Square Enix has released version 1.5.0 for Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles, bringing a fresh set of features and quality of life changes to the game’s enhanced version.
The update is available now and gives returning players a few good reasons to head back into Ivalice, especially if they have already cleared the campaign and want to build a stronger party from the ground up.
The main addition is New Game Plus. After completing the story, players can now start a new run while carrying over several parts of their progress, including unit levels, items, and other save data.
Version 1.5.0 also adds a Zodiac Compatibility display to the unit status screen. Zodiac signs influence compatibility between units, which can change the effectiveness of attacks, healing, and certain abilities. Having that information easier to check should make planning cleaner, especially for players who like to optimize casters, support units, and story battle lineups.
The update also improves how players read the battlefield. When choosing a tile for movement or targeting an ability, it is now possible to check the status of the unit under the cursor.
The Enhanced version now includes a Remove All Equipment option from the Equipment and Abilities section of the unit status screen. Locked jobs now show clearer unlock conditions, which should help players understand what they need to do to open new roles. The camera angle and zoom level will also remain fixed for the full duration of a battle, giving players more control over how they view the field.
Square Enix has added a few settings aimed at smoothing repeated actions. Players can keep auto proceed active during cutscenes, choose to always play certain ability incantation lines, and preserve the cursor position inside the Abilities section of the battle menu.
The patch also includes minor text adjustments across all languages, sound effect changes, stability improvements, and fixes for smaller issues. On top of that, the Enhanced version now supports Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean text. Players can change the text language from the General Settings menu.
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles already brought the classic tactical RPG back with updated visuals, voiced dialogue, and modern usability features. Version 1.5.0 continues that work without changing the core of the game.
New Game Plus is the big feature here, but the best part of the update may be the cleaner flow around menus, targeting, and battlefield information. Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles is available on PC via Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
