You wouldn’t believe how many emails I get about new games. Sometimes it’s frustrating not being able to keep up and having to let some slip through the cracks. But over the past few days, I’ve managed to clean up my inbox a bit, and in the process, I’ve uncovered a bunch of interesting titles sent directly by the developers themselves.
One of them is the game I’m introducing today: Conquer Lands, a card-driven strategy roguelite developed by the indie studio Virtual Fable.

The game puts you in the middle of a succession crisis, where the king has died without an heir, and every lord is now vying for the throne. Naturally, it’s up to you to step in, build your army, and fight your way through rival claimants.
At its core, Conquer Lands is a single-player roguelite deckbuilder. But instead of just shuffling cards and hoping for combos, there’s a strong focus on army composition and battlefield positioning. Each card represents a unit, and your deck becomes a tactical formation where class, strength, and type all affect how cards are triggered and played. There’s even a mechanic that lets you reposition enemies mid-fight, which adds another layer to how you approach each encounter.

The map is structured into ten regions, each branching into different paths. Your route across the kingdom affects what cards and challenges you’ll face, and to claim the crown, you’ll need to conquer castles across nine of those regions. There’s also a Chancellor system that introduces pre-battle events, some helpful, others not, depending on who else is trying to sway him to their cause.
Visuals have seen a big upgrade based on community feedback. The team has overhauled the art style and introduced new cards, including villagers, cheap units that allow for “infinite build” strategies or themed decks. The release of Conquer Lands isn’t far off, as it’s set for July 31, 2025, on PC via Steam. Below you’ll find more details and the gameplay trailer.
