When it comes to horror in video games, everyone thinks of the same few titles. Whether it be Resident Evil, Silent Hill, or the many others that followed in their footsteps, they all have one thing in common: They are all real-time and action-based. There's something about that intensity - of having to react quickly, while being hunted - that sadly just can not be replicated using the more tactical/turn-based approach.

Commodore 64 had such a vast library - it seemed like there was something for any sort of player in it: From solid ports of arcade titles, like Wizard of Wor, to incredibly weird licensed projects - How To Be a Complete Bastard. There was even a complete simulation of being homeless, called From Rags To Riches. Naturally, there were a ton of turn-based games. We've already seen a few great ones in the original list, but why stop there? So, let's take a look at some of the other memorable titles for that legendary machine.

Welcome, Turn-Based Lovers, to another edition of Keep An Eye On It! We've got another list of in-development, early-access, and brand-new turn-based RPGs and Strategy Games of 2022 that looks very promising.
My somewhat late Top 5 favorite turn-based games of 2021.
Note: These games are listed in non-sequential order in terms of ranking i.e. not ranked by number or order. Also, it may be obvious but all games had to be released in 2021. There were some hard choices to make for this list but I felt these titles would be decent to experience for the turn-based fan. The five games selected were four RPGs and one SRPG.

I thought 2021 couldn't be worse than 2020, but COVID-19 is still isolating the world, and the restrictions are still there. Sometimes, the situation gives us a break, but never for long. I usually post this earlier, but I caught the virus on New Year's Eve. At a family gathering, I, along with some others, got it. It was a bad experience, but at least I got vaccinated, so the symptoms were weaker and, fortunately, I recovered. It was, however, another delightful year for games. Some nice titles were released that helped us get through the situation. Anyway here are my Top 5 Turn-Based RPGs of 2021.

A good tactical RPG has so much to offer - engaging storylines, deep characters, and of course compelling combat gameplay. It's a genre that has inspired thousands of players and creators, some of whom go on to make their own games which in turn inspire others. Developers across the world are working hard right now to bring their dreams to life, and that means players can look forward to a full suite of TRPGs in 2022. Who knows - one of these titles could be the next classic!
On The Radar – Turn-Based RPGs & Strategy Games of February 2022
Well, I've got two good news for you! The first one is that this time you won't have to read one of my (in)famous introductions, so you can go straight to reading the list of the upcoming releases! The second one is that this month is going to be very very rich, with games for almost every taste. True - most of them are indie projects. This, however, certainly doesn't mean they won't be able to catch your attention. Extravagance and originality are the leitmotif of the month! So much so that we could find games where the hero is called Hiro, where the main quest is to go and get some sugar, or where you can fight foes by playing on a banjo. Ah, what would life be without a little foolishness?

The year 2022 seems to have a good slew of games coming out that aren't just limited to turn-based. But as you know, this is site is specialized so without going over those, allow me to introduce some of my most anticipated turn-based games with some hopefuls on the list that don't have a specific date but are warranted to be on in my opinion.
