Here’s the March 2025 recap featuring the most notable releases in RPGs, strategy games, roguelites, and everything else that falls under the umbrella of our beloved turn-based titles. This month shouldn’t be overlooked—though I know, like me, you’re already looking ahead to April for Clair Obscur. Still, I think some of these games might just keep you occupied while you wait.
A closer look at all the major releases of the month
The month kicks off with Knights in Tight Spaces, the sequel to Fights in Tight Spaces. While the original had you playing a John Wick-style operative in an urban setting, this new entry shifts to a medieval backdrop. The core mechanics remain the same—strategically playing the right cards to execute movements, attacks, and combos while making the most of tight, grid-based maps. Definitely a title worth checking out, released on March 4 for PC.
If you’re looking for a more traditional and realistic strategy experience, Rogue Conflict debuted on March 6. Developed by a solo creator, this game may have a colorful art style, but it offers deep strategic elements, including a morale system that can force units to retreat if pushed too far. Expect procedurally generated maps and a wide variety of units to command.
The long-awaited Suikoden I&II HD Remaster: Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars has finally debuted on PC and consoles. This Konami remaster brings one of the most significant JRPG series back to life, incorporating numerous new elements and enhanced graphics. It’s a perfect opportunity for younger enthusiasts to discover these past gems.
The first installment was well-received, and I enjoyed it greatly. This month, Dark Deity 2 debuts, advancing the narrative 25 years beyond the first game and introducing new mechanics like equippable rings and greater customization in character growth and classes. It’s certainly worth considering. This SRPG is set to release on March 24, 2025, for PC.
I haven’t tried it yet, despite its presence at various past festivals and the demo now available on Steam, but Once Upon a Tile has some truly intriguing concepts—especially its core gameplay mechanic. Instead of directly controlling the main character, you’ll guide a brave little mouse by strategically placing different types of tiles. You’ll need to balance tiles that spawn enemies with those that provide resources, carefully paving the best possible path to help the mouse travel as far as possible. The game is set to release on March 27 for PC.
Toward the end of March, two more exciting titles are on the horizon. One of them is As We Descend, a roguelite strategy RPG I had the chance to try a while ago. It blends dungeon exploration with city management, offering a tactical combat system driven by cards. The game features striking visuals and a diverse array of enemies, culminating in massive boss battles. Don’t let this one slip under your radar—it definitely deserves attention. The release is also scheduled for March 27.
The final title of the month is Vagrus: The Riven Realms, a sandbox, story-driven RPG with gorgeous visuals and an impressively deep lore, now making its console debut. This is the perfect opportunity for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch owners to step into the role of a vagrus—a caravan leader navigating a dark fantasy world, trading, seeking fortune, and surviving the countless dangers the game world throws your way.
We’ve covered this game multiple times, and you can check out our review here. Plus, note that the console version will include all the expansions and updates released for the PC version so far. This was just a brief introduction to what I consider the most noteworthy titles, but I encourage you to keep scrolling through the full list of releases below—you’ll find plenty of other games beyond those mentioned.

Developed by Ground Shatter and published by Raw Fury, Knights in Tight Spaces launches on PC. The game features a more detailed art style, moving away from the minimalist aesthetic of its predecessor, and introduces new mechanics like momentum-based combos and environmental kills. Rogue Conflict blends classic hex-based military tactics with procedurally generated campaigns and permadeath. Players command a variety of units—recon scouts, armored divisions, and combat engineers—across dynamic battle maps where terrain and morale play a key role. Every unit has a unique role, and positioning is critical, as morale-based mechanics can cause troops to retreat or surrender if battered too heavily. The game’s roguelike structure means no two campaigns play the same, with randomized missions, unit progression, and enemy compositions keeping each run fresh.
The game is launching on PC and is developed by a solo indie creator. Rogue Conflict emphasizes strategic depth despite its minimalist pixel art style, with features like terrain-based tactics, unit veterancy, and supply line management. Early previews praise its intricate battle mechanics, noting that it captures the spirit of classic wargames while introducing modern roguelike elements. Fans of methodical turn-based planning and high-stakes decision-making will find Rogue Conflict 6 a rewarding challenge.
