SOG: Vietnam now has a release date. The roguelike is set to launch on Steam on March 18, 2026, with PigeonMakesGames and Games By Loki listed as developers and publishers.

SOG: Vietnam Roguelike

In this traditional roguelike You drop into Vietnam as a lone SOG operative, take missions, then try to make it back to base alive, because death wipes the progress you built during that sortie. That roguelite reset is the whole point. It pushes planning into the foreground, since your loadout and choices have to carry you through whatever the map throws at you.

Air cavalry support, artillery, napalm, C4, grenades, tripwires, plus a standard specialist kit are all part of the arsenal, so the game isn’t locked to pure stealth runs. Still, its missions keep circling back to positioning, scouting, and picking the right moment to act. You can blend in, work with locals, creep through jungle shadows, then flip the switch into pure chaos when the objective calls for it.

Runs start with a helicopter insertion onto a procedurally generated map covered in dense foliage, with traps, ambushes, and wildlife all presented as real threats.

Pre mission prep leans into tradeoffs, like packing extra rations to keep hunger from snowballing, or taking explosives for sabotage. Progression is handled through ability points and perks, with the promise that finishing an operation and getting out alive earns rewards like medals and perks that open up more options for future missions.

The release date announcement also teases what changes in the full version. The developers say they’re adding a quest system, more weapons, more perks, consumables, trophies, new enemy types, a tunnel exploration mechanic, plus a batch of quality of life improvements.

They’re pairing the date with a new trailer as well. If you want a quick feel for the tone and the combat flow right now, there’s already a demo on Steam.
