Last year’s cult PC RPG about a bloody feud with a dragon now lands on Nintendo’s handheld, complete with its tangle of classes, choices, and tactical scraps.
The Nameless: Slay Dragon is out today on Nintendo Switch, marking the console debut of a turn-based RPG that has already built itself a reputation on PC.

Released last year, it quietly picked up more than 1,600 Steam reviews marked “Very Positive,” with many players surprised by how much depth the solo developer packed into its story and systems.
It’s a game that wears its influences openly. There’s a bit of gamebook flavour in the way choices bend the story, and a lot of tactical meat in the combat.
You play as a young man on a bloody path toward a dragon, building a party along the way and running into enemies that are more cunning than they first appear. The real draw, though, is how much room there is to tinker.

Over twenty character classes can be mixed and matched, each with their own traits and skills, and that freedom encourages strange, satisfying strategies. Crafting, exploration, and personal backstories for your companions round out the rest.
Publisher WhisperGames showed the Switch version at Gamescom earlier this year, and it looked right at home. The new trailer released alongside the launch leans on the same mix of big battles and branching story that won over PC players.
If you missed it the first time around, or just want an RPG you can carry in your bag, The Nameless: Slay Dragon is now on the eShop.
