Warside’s 1.5 update is live, and it’s a clear push toward tighter tempo and stronger infantry play.

LAVABIRD has cut deployment costs for core units, medic, and sniper, so support and precision tools hit the field earlier. Blightguard gains mobility and defense alongside a cheaper deploy, while Boomtruck’s new splash damage plus a cost cut turns it into a credible area-denial piece instead of a niche pick.
Flametank is cheaper and tankier, Anti-Air gets a cost drop with higher base defense, Attack Heli damage values are rebalanced across matchups, Icefang now pierces through targets (with a lower cost and tuned base damage), and Frigate adds an alternate attack that can target helicopters, shoring up naval counters to air.

These changes read like a systematic nudge away from high-ticket answers toward flexible, scalable boards where low-to-mid cost tools matter more.
Battle Powers also get a meaningful restraint: every use now increases the charge requirement by 10% (compounding). In practice, players can still swing turns with a well-timed power, but spamming back-to-back activations has a mounting opportunity cost, which should reward tempo planning and create more interesting decision points in longer missions and PvP sets.
Readability sees a small but useful tweak: ranged units now show a subtle on-map “nudge” when firing, helping track projectile origins in busy exchanges, especially handy in fog or when multiple fronts are active.
Alongside balance, the developers describe 1.5 as a broad refinement pass to smooth difficulty spikes and refresh underused strategies across the campaign and skirmish play, which fits the unit and power adjustments above.

If you’ve been waiting to jump in, there’s also a discount. Warside is currently 50% off on Steam, marked as a Daily Deal and listed as ending November 2, its deepest cut to date, so the price drop is live now following the October 19 start date.
Warside is available on PC via Steam, with Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox versions planned for later.
It features fourteen playable Commanders with unique passives and Battle Powers, a single-player story campaign of 30+ missions, online PvP and co-op, an in-game mission editor, and combined-arms fights across land, sea, and air with more than thirty unit types.
Language support includes English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Polish. Below the latest trailer.
