The digital adaptation of the massive tactical board game is set to leave Early Access this fall, with the full campaign, all heroes, and several launch improvements included.
Frosthaven now has a date for its full release. Arc Games and Snapshot Games have announced that the tactical RPG will launch in version 1.0 on October 15, 2026, for PC.
Based on the celebrated board game by Isaac Childres and Cephalofair Games, Frosthaven brings the same demanding mix of tactical combat, party building, resource management, and long-term campaign decisions to PC.
The digital version has been available in Early Access since July 2025, giving players a first look at its harsh frozen setting, card-driven battles, and slowly expanding outpost.
The 1.0 launch will mark a major step for the game, as it will introduce the complete story campaign, including its final chapter. All 17 playable heroes will also be available, with the last remaining class joining the roster alongside the full release.
Snapshot Games is also using the full launch to smooth out the early hours of the experience. Frosthaven is known for being dense, even by tactical RPG standards, so version 1.0 will include improved tutorials, clearer interface elements, and the digital-only Road to Frosthaven introduction, designed to help new players understand the basics before diving into the main campaign. A standalone demo based on that introductory content is also planned.
The final release will bring enhanced online co-op, customizable House Rules, a new opening cinematic, hero unlock videos, and a full in-game Codex covering the world, characters, creatures, biomes, and other lore details.
The developers have also confirmed that the launch version will include the updates and improvements added throughout Early Access.
At its core, Frosthaven remains a game about difficult decisions. Players will need to manage ability cards during battle, choose when to push forward or retreat, develop their settlement between expeditions, and deal with the consequences of choices made across a long campaign.
Players who already own the Early Access version will receive the 1.0 release as an update, with existing saves expected to remain compatible. Post-launch support is also planned, with Snapshot Games continuing to address feedback after the full release.
Frosthaven launches in full on October 15, 2026, for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
