Flocking Hell Roguelite Strategy

If you’re looking for something innovative, easy to learn, and above all relaxing, you should give Flocking Hell a chance. This strategy game, developed by Sextant Studios, tasks us with defending our pasture from demonic hordes.

Flocking Hell Roguelite

Essentially, it’s a sort of Minesweeper. In each scenario, you’ll start with a darkened map that you need to explore, uncovering settlements and connecting them to strengthen them in preparation for the arrival of demonic hordes. These hordes invade the map after a set number of turns.

You’ll need to balance exploration, managing sheep from your pasture—which are essential for exploring and linking cities—and using cards to power up settlements, reveal parts of the map, and more. All of this must be done before the horde invades the map.

The concept is very simple yet surprisingly deep. As you progress, you’ll also unlock specialists who grant various bonuses. Below, you’ll find my gameplay footage for a clearer idea of the game’s mechanics. Flocking Hell is currently in development and is expected to release on PC in March 2025, with a demo available now on Steam.
