The roguelite spaceship deckbuilder exits Early Access with a massive 1.0 update and heads to Steam, Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch.

After garnering thousands of players in Early Access, LONESTAR, the sci-fi roguelite deckbuilder from indie studio Math Tide and publisher Thermite Games, is ready to hit hyperspace. The full 1.0 launch is officially set for April 3rd, 2025, bringing a galactic-scale content update and expanding to Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Nintendo Switch.
In LONESTAR, you play as a bounty hunter navigating a universe filled with wanted criminals, powerful treasures, and tactical spaceship battles fought through an original “shockwave” card combat system. With over 1,200 positive reviews on Steam and a “Very Positive” rating, the game has already earned a loyal following.
What’s New in Version 1.0?
The launch update adds a wealth of new content:
- New Spaceship – Spectra: Joining the original two ships, the Spectra brings fresh mechanics and customization options.
- Expanded Arsenal: The game’s component system grows by 85, allowing for even more intricate builds.
- 50+ Unique Pilots: Each with distinct abilities and rich backstories.
- 130+ Random Events: Vacation events, combat choices, and narrative surprises.
- New Bosses: Including one hidden, legendary boss only accessible to elite players.
- Steam Workshop Support: Players can now create and share their own content.
- New Languages: Traditional Chinese and Japanese have been added.
- Crossover Events: LONESTAR teams up with Backpack Battles, Magicraft, and Chrono Ark for special pilots and bundles on launch day.
“We wanted LONESTAR to feel like a wild journey through space where every decision matters,” said the team in a recent update. “Thanks to the incredible community feedback during Early Access, we’ve shaped the game into something truly special.” said the team.
Unlike many deckbuilders that keep players on rails, LONESTAR offers a highly modular experience. With over 170 components, 150+ treasures, and 8 difficulty levels, the game rewards creative thinking and long-term planning. Add in vacation events that serve as mini-storylines and choices between missions, and LONESTAR feels as much like a spacefaring RPG as it does a card battler.
And yes—after every successful bounty, you get vacation time. In space. Because even bounty hunters need a break. LONESTAR 1.0 launches April 3rd. Wishlist it now on Steam, or prepare your Switch for a high-stakes, low-gravity hunt across the stars.
