Indie publisher Digerati is delighted to confirm the news that itβs bringingΒ The Outbound Ghost, a hauntingly adorable RPG, to PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S later this year (Q4 2022). In development since 2020 at Swiss studio Conradical Games (aka solo dev Conrad Grindheim), The Outbound GhostΒ combines quests, exploration, turn-based combat, and crafting.
A story-driven adventure, players take control of an amnesiac spook with no memory of who they are or how they died. Arriving in Outbound, a small village with its own mysterious and tragic past, the spectral protagonist finds it haunted by former residents unable to pass over to the other side. The player must help theΒ ghostly inhabitants resolve their unfinished earthly business and find peace, allowing the restless souls to ascend to the afterlife.

The Outbound GhostΒ is the third game developed by Conradical Games, following the previously released Lootbox Lyfe and Girabox. Collaborating on the game with programmer, designer, and project lead Conrad Grindheim areΒ composer Kimmo Savilampi (Aria Disconnect) and character artistΒ Clayton Chowaniec (Rog & Roll). Publishing partner Digerati is also working with Conradical GamesΒ to help the developer bring its vision for the game to fruition, as Grindheim explains:Β Β
βDue to budget restraints, early iterations ofΒ The Outbound GhostΒ lacked combat and important gameplay features. However, with Digerati supporting development, the game is now shaping up to become more aligned with what Iβve always wanted it to be.β
βThe aim is to create a compelling storyΒ that seamlessly integrates with original gameplay. Thatβs something Iβve prioritized since day one. We still have work to do, but Iβm already very happy with the narrative design. I donβt want to elaborate and give too much away, but there are multiple βparadigm shiftsβ in the game that I hope will make for unforgettable story beats.βΒ

The Outbound GhostΒ is an adventure RPG about helping ghosts ascend to the afterlife. The town of Outbound is, quite literally, a ghost town β a home to troubled spooks with unresolved earthly issues, condemning them to an eternity haunting their old *ahem* haunts.
