ENDLESS Legend 2 Delayed

I’ve got some good news and some bad news to share with you this morning. Let’s start with the bad: unfortunately, ENDLESS Legend 2 won’t be arriving in August as initially planned. The good news is that you’ll still be able to try it in August, and here’s how.

Publisher Hooded Horse and developer Amplitude Studios have pushed the launch back by six weeks, selecting 22 September 2025 as the new date and promising a playable demo for the first week of August so that prospective rulers of Saiadha can still get their hands on the game before summer’s end.

Although most storefront listings still show August 7, 2025, as the planned release date, that entry now reflects an outdated schedule created before today’s announcement.

For many fans, the August target had already become a fixture of their calendars thanks to April’s release-window trailer and a steady stream of faction reveals, but Amplitude has decided that extra refinement is more valuable than sticking rigidly to the old timeline.

Amplitude explains that the additional six weeks will be spent improving new-player onboarding, tightening balance, enhancing map generation, and raising localisation quality across the game’s 16 supported languages.

Those tasks, the studio notes, feed directly into the philosophy that Early Access should feel solid from the first turn, rather than relying on players to test a rough draft.

Chief executive and studio co-founder Romain de Waubert de Genlis characterises the decision as “a tough call” but one made in response to extensive feedback from the ENDLESS Insiders Programme.

“Taking this extra time means we can keep refining the game and make sure we’re delivering the best possible experience to players on 22 September,” he states.

To bridge the gap, Amplitude and Hooded Horse will publish a free demo in early August. The slice will arrive around the date that had previously been reserved for the full Early Access launch, giving strategy enthusiasts a chance to test the revised onboarding in practice and supply one final round of impressions before the gates open for good next month.

For players planning their first campaign, the Steam page still offers a detailed breakdown of what to expect. ENDLESS Legend 2 retains the asymmetric-faction design that distinguished the 2014 original, but transports its societies to a newly flooded planet where periodic tidefalls drain the oceans, reshaping the strategic landscape mid-campaign.

Amplitude promises turn-based tactical battles that can be micromanaged for terrain advantages or resolved automatically, a full hero progression system, and multiple victory routes ranging from military conquest to narrative-driven quests.

The sequel has drawn sustained attention throughout 2025. Coverage in specialist outlets such as PC Gamer highlighted the evolving-map mechanic and lauded Amplitude’s return to high-fantasy after several years focused on historical 4X design.

Hands-on previews have likewise emphasised the potential for the new tide system to maintain early-game dynamism deep into each match.

As I close this report, the roadmap is therefore clear. A demo will land in early August, offering a stress test of onboarding changes and giving would-be emperors their first taste of the shifting seas.

The full Early Access build, now scheduled for 22 September 2025, will launch with at least five playable factions, Steam Cloud support, and full English voice-over alongside 15 additional language options.

Until then, the development team continues to tune, balance, sharpen localisation, and assimilate Insider feedback in pursuit of an Early Access release that feels almost finished on day one. Below, I share with you the latest Early Access Release Date Trailer.
