Front Mission 2 Remake has recently released a new trailer that provides an in-depth look into the game’s storyline and its second chapter’s complex science fiction setting. This revamped version of the game has been specifically designed for Nintendo Switch.
The game’s plot revolves around various geopolitical issues and a futuristic world that fully embodies the classic science fiction anime tradition. The People’s Republic of Alordesh, located in Southeast Asia, joins the supranational union O.C.U. at the end of the 21st century to revive its severely weakened economy. However, following the second Huffman conflict, the situation in Alordesh deteriorates even further, resulting in significant discontent among its population, which blames O.C.U. for the country’s ongoing difficulties.
Riots broke out in the region in 2098, and twelve years after the events narrated in Front Mission 1st, the second coup d’état began on June 12, 2102, with a coordinated attack on three major military bases and parliament. To suppress the rebellion, O.C.U. sends in the army, and the story follows the events that unfold among the ranks of the military teams “Muddy Otters,” “Dull Stags,” and “O.C.U. Ground Defense Force Intelligence Agency.”

12 years have passed since the second Huffman conflict. The impoverished People’s Republic of Alordesh has been suffering a severe economic decline ever since the war ended. In June 2102, soldiers of the Alordesh Army rise up and, led by Ven Mackarge, declare independence from the O.C.U. (Oceania Cooperative Union).
Ash, an O.C.U. soldier, manages to survive the ensuing battle, but Alordesh is completely overrun by the Revolutionary Army. Ash and his surviving teammates infiltrate Alordesh’s chaotic underground in an attempt to escape the country. However, they soon discover that there is a huge conspiracy behind the coup.
In FRONT MISSION 2, the perspective switches between three characters: Ash, Lisa, and Thomas, creating a worldview that goes beyond a simple dichotomy between good and evil.
