Driven by my work commitments, I’d love to take this opportunity to get back into a healthy habit; the weekly recap where I gather everything that has happened over the week in the world of RPGs, Strategy games, and Roguelites, strictly turn-based. All the announcements, new videos, and especially the new releases.

This week was dominated by the many official release dates announced, some for titles I’m eagerly anticipating. So, let’s dive right in.

Gladly announcing the release date of Subterrain: Mines of Titan

Subterrain: Mines of Titan is a most anticipated survival roguelike strategy game developed by Pixellore Inc. and published by Freedom Games. Set on Saturn’s moon Titan, after a catastrophic meteor impact, the game involves a salvage expedition to uncover the fate of a mysteriously disappeared mining colony.

Players navigate treacherous terrains, manage resources, and face otherworldly challenges to survive and solve the mystery. The game emphasizes strategic decision-making and exploration in a hostile environment​​. Subterrain: Mines of Titan is launching on PC via Steam on March 12, 2024.

Explore Dreams and collect Soul Dust in RPG Thyria – Now Available in Early Access.

Thyria, an RPG featuring turn-based combat and isometric 2D exploration, is set for an Early Access release on February 29th at 10 CET. The game invites players to explore dark spirits, lift a village curse, and delve into cursed villagers’ minds to collect resources and knowledge.

With dynamic exploration, strategic combat, and a laboratory for summoning Guardians, Thyria offers a unique blend of time management and adventure in a procedurally generated world.

Most Anticipated Tactical RPG Crown Wars Shows Off New Gameplay Mechanics

This is for sure one of the most anticipated games, and its release it’s almost here. I’m talking about Crown Wars: The Black Prince, a turn-based tactics and strategy game that has unveiled new gameplay features in a video. Highlighting strategies like cover, positioning, and skill combos, it promises complex tactical gameplay with diverse objectives and a wide variety of weapons and skills.

Set during the Hundred Years’ War, the game’s narrative involves royal conflicts and a sinister Order seeking power. Scheduled for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S on March 14, 2024, it has already gained positive feedback from a Steam Next Fest demo.

Roll The Dice in Roguelite Dicefolk – Available now

Dicefolk, a tactical roguelite game featuring dice-based combat and monster-catching mechanics, is now available on Steam for €14.79. As a Chimera Summoner, players recruit beasts to save humanity from a sorcerer named Salem.

The game emphasizes strategic turn control and offers over 100 creatures and items to collect. Alea, the protagonist, utilizes her dice magic to befriend Chimeras and challenge Salem’s tyranny​. A nice option to kill time during the weekend.

Preorders of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance

Shin Megami Tensei V Vengeance, an expanded version of the acclaimed RPG, introduces new storylines, demons, and locations. It offers two-story paths, “Canon of Creation” and “Canon of Vengeance,” each providing approximately 80 hours of gameplay.

Enhanced features include an improved battle system and exploration. The game will be released on June 21, 2024, across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. Preordering the Digital Standard Edition grants two Sacred Treasure Sets for battle advantages, while the Digital Deluxe Edition includes additional DLC quests and add-ons​​.

New Stuff for Award-Winning Strategy Age of Wonders 4

Primal Fury is the name of the latest content pack for the strategy game Age Of Wonders 4, it introduces a new Primal Culture, allowing players to control beasts, nature, and magic uniquely. Available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, it also brings the Wolf Update, enhancing gameplay with a reworked necromancy system and more. A free-to-play period on Xbox Game Pass is offered from February 29 to March 4, 2024.

Co-Op Tactical Roguelite Inkbound Out Of Early Access Soon

Inkbound, the co-op tactical roguelite by Shiny Shoe (Monster Train), is exiting Early Access with its 1.0 release on April 10, featuring a new questline, final boss, and enhancements like full controller support and improved Steam Deck experience.

The update adds localization, narrative improvements with full English voiceover, and under-the-hood tweaks for a polished experience. It has evolved significantly, offering additional character classes and worlds, based on community feedback since its Early Access launch in May 2023​​.

A unique blend of Tactical Combats, Visual Novel and….Dinosaurs…..

A unique blend of a tactical RPG and visual novel, set in a bio-engineered future Earth. In Clever Girls players lead a squad of dinosaurs, each with unique combat styles, to fight against human captors while forming intricate relationships within the group.

The game features strategic gameplay, evolving character relationships, and a beautifully stylized prehistoric world. Currently, it’s available for wishlist on Steam and will participate in the Dinos vs Robots Festival​​.

Dungeon Drafters On Its Way to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation & Xbox

Dungeon Drafters, a mystery dungeon adventure with roguelite elements, launches on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox on March 14, 2024. It incorporates card-based magic for combat, offering diverse strategies with over 300 cards.

Players choose from six characters, each starting with unique decks, and explore six unique dungeons. The console release includes all updates since its PC debut, promising the most comprehensive version of the game​​.

Tamarak Trail – A New Dice-Based Roguelite Now Available

Tamarak Trail, a turn-based, dice-oriented deck-building roguelite by Yarrow Games, is now available on PC, Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox for $14.99. It offers a demo on Steam, allowing players to try the first map section. The game features customizable dice for battles, three unique character classes, and a hand-drawn, procedurally generated trail filled with mysteries​​.

A New Character Origin in LAtest Broken Roads Video

Broken Roads, an RPG set in post-apocalyptic Australia, launches on PC and Xbox on November 14. Developed by Drop Bear Bytes in collaboration with Versus Evil, it features exploration, turn-based combat, and a unique morality system influenced by philosophical choices. Authentic locations and a distinctive soundtrack add depth to its immersive world​​. With a new video, they just revealed a new character’s origin.

Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions Now Available

Captain Velvet Meteor: The Jump+ Dimensions is now available on PC and Xbox, offering a turn-based adventure with a 20% launch discount. It’s a collaboration between SHUEISHA GAMES and Jump+ manga, featuring a story about a boy, Damien, adjusting to a new country with the help of his imagination and manga heroes.

The game blends fun dialogue, puzzles, and strategic battles, aiming to appeal to a broad audience with its accessible gameplay and meaningful narrative.

Promising Tactical RPG Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery Has a Release date

I played the demo a while ago, and now I’m very excited to share that Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery, a tactical RPG set in the Girls’ Frontline universe, launches on Steam on March 22, 2024. Reverse Collapse is set 30 years in the future during a Second Cold War, follows agents Mendo and Jefuty fighting against the URNC with 13 possible endings.

It promises a rich tactical experience with over 300,000 words of story, 100 hours of gameplay, 60+ stages, and a full Japanese voiceover. An 18% launch discount applies until April 5​​.

Star Trek Goes Card-Based on PC

Let’s finish with Star Trek: Legends, initially launched on Apple Arcade, which is now available on PC, including Steam Early Access, with new content and enhancements. This team-based RPG allows players to embark on an adventure with heroes and villains from across the Star Trek franchise.

The PC version includes quality-of-life improvements, redesigned UI and controls, new collection features, and more. The game offers 95 characters, strategic battles, multiple story missions, and a variety of gameplay enhancements, priced at a launch discount until February 27​​.
