Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds Tactical RPG

Next major patch pushes the main quest into the past, with new enemies, deeper builds, and Steam Deck-focused polish.

Guild Saga is a title we’re giving a lot of coverage to, both here on these pages and over on my YouTube channel. The latest is our 1-year-later overview.

Anyway, today’s news is that the game from indiedev Ocelot is lining up its next major Early Access patch with Update 0.7, planned for March, and it sounds like a story-heavy slice that leans hard on the game’s mix of party builds, crafting professions, and turn-based tactics.

Guild Saga

The update is framed as the last big step before Version 1.0, and it advances the main quest by sending the party backwards through time rather than pushing the map forward.

The new chapter revolves around Thevyre, a figure described as the Magus Temporalis, and a chronomancy trip that drops the party 150 years in the past during the Elven Siege on Respite Island.

That puts players at the gates of an Elven Castle at the moment it comes under attack by House Mazan, which should be a neat excuse to remix familiar locations with a different political and military context. The central objective in that era is tied to securing an ancient Elven relic called the Shard of Hydromancy, which is positioned as the key to navigating the Maelstrom and opening the route toward the Isles of Mystshade.

Combat-wise, Update 0.7 is pitched as a difficulty spike. The new encounters include an Ancient King, elven Royal Guards, Siege Constructs, and Soul Bending Sorcerers, with a warning that these fights are tuned to demand tighter preparation than earlier content.

Progression is getting a sizable bump, too. Update 0.7 adds over 50 new talents and skills, expanding build options across the party and widening the space for role definition in tactical encounters. The current Early Access version already supports a lot of ability-driven decision making, with Steam listing 100 skills across 10 schools alongside gathering and crafting professions.

Another layer of talents can change how quickly builds come online, how much flexibility players have in party composition, and how specialized characters can get without feeling locked into one line.

Items and Skills

On the quality of life side, the patch is also aimed at smoothing friction points that show up in long RPG sessions. The preview mentions increased inventory size, multi select in the inventory, shared inventory access for crafting and merchant windows, area loot support for keyboard and mouse, more extensive text size options, plus Steam Deck optimization.

The current target for the full release is Q3 2026, which matches the Early Access window shown on the Steam store page. The 1.0 plan includes open sea travel with ship navigation across island chains, a promise of finally crossing the Maelstrom to reach the Isles of Mystshade, plus a larger pool of crafting recipes, legendary items, new skills, and new enemies.

Guild Saga New Update

It also calls out the conclusion of companion questlines with endings shaped by player choices, which suggests the endgame will put narrative consequences on the table rather than treating party members as disposable combat pieces.

For anyone who has been waiting to jump in, Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds is already available in Early Access on PC via Steam, where it is positioned as a tactics-focused, isometric RPG built around party recruitment and classic-style turn-based combat.
