Lex Imperialis New Rogue Trader RPG

Owlcat Games has announced a new expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader, titled Lex Imperialis. Following the success of the base game, which sold over one million units, and the Void Shadows DLC, this new expansion promises to further enrich the gameplay experience with innovative mechanics and fresh content.

As the tension rises in the Koronus Expanse, the von Valancius dynasty seeks new tactical advantages. The Lex Imperialis expansion introduces a second-tier archetype known as the Overseer, along with the Arbites origin, both offering new gameplay opportunities.

Rogue Trader

The Overseer is a versatile support specialist capable of deploying cybernetic familiars to assist in combat and exploration. These loyal creatures, ranging from the powerful Cyber-Mastiff to the utility-focused Psyber-Crow, enhance the Overseer’s offensive capabilities and provide unique support options. For instance, the Cyber-Mastiff can charge enemies to apply the ‘Interpellated’ effect, triggering additional attacks when targeted by the Overseer. Meanwhile, the Psyber-Crow can relay psychic abilities, applying their effects to multiple targets simultaneously.

Different familiar types are available depending on the Overseer’s origin and archetype. For example, the Arbites can deploy a robust Cyber-Mastiff, while Psykers can control a Psyber-Crow. Officers and Agents may utilize the Cyber-Eagle, capable of disrupting enemy actions, or a swarm of Servo-Skulls for area-of-effect support.

Additionally, Lex Imperialis introduces the Arbites origin, inspired by the hardened veterans of the Adeptus Arbites. This new origin offers unique playstyles with three distinct specializations: Subductor, Vigilant, and Castigator. The Subductor excels in melee combat, using shields to knock down foes. The Vigilant specializes in shotgun mastery, applying enhanced damage and status effects. The Castigator enforces the Lex by manipulating enemy positioning and imposing penalties.
