The world of Master of Magic just got a whole lot bigger and a lot more complex. As part of today’s Steam Strategy Fest, gaming enthusiasts can now dive into the much-anticipated Master of Magic: Rise of the Soultrapped expansion. This groundbreaking addition introduces an exhilarating Techmagic realm, a novel Soultrapped race, and a host of new wizards, heroes, spells, and other fantastical elements.
Where Future Meets Fantasy: The Techmagic Realm
Master of Magic: Rise of the Soultrapped brings a groundbreaking layer of complexity to the franchise, intertwining steampunk-inspired technology with the wonders of arcane magic,” says developer MuHa Games. The expansion introduces players to the new Soultrapped race, guardians of a formidable stronghold filled with coveted resources. “With three new playable Wizards, five new customizable Wizard traits, ten new spells, and four new Heroes, there is something here for everyone,” adds strategy publisher Slitherine.
Rise of the Soultrapped: Meet the New Race
At the center of this expansion lies the enigmatic Soultrapped race. A captivating fusion of human and machinery, the Soultrapped inhabit a Techmagic realm replete with new units like Engineers and Tech Priests. The race even boasts unique troops, such as the Soul Cannon and the Yeet, which can summon an explosive Magbomb. Commanding them all is Nineseven, a powerful new Wizard with an enigmatic past.
New Wizards and Heroes to Command
Other new wizards include the formidable Morique, a master of Death and Chaos magic, and the nature-connected warlord Grendel. Players will also find a host of new Heroes ready to join their magical quest. “From Moma and Ilde, the twin duo wielding the unique Sharp Exchange spell, to Billie the Gunslinger, a halfling youth with remarkable marksmanship, the expansion offers an array of characters,” says Slitherine.

From August 28th to September 4th, Master of Magic will be discounted by 30% on Steam and Humble Bundle. Nearly all titles by Slitherine are available at up to 90% off during the event, including popular titles like Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector and Panzer Corps 2.
Enhanced Gameplay Experience
In addition to new content, the Rise of the Soultrapped expansion brings a host of quality-of-life improvements, including a rewritten unrest mechanic, hero recruitment features, and a Quick Load and Save option. The expansion also adds Steam Workshop support and revamps modding tools.
