The CRPG from the creators of Atom RPG and Trudograd is gearing up for a major update this May. I’m talking about Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy, a classic party-based isometric RPG developed by AtomTeam and in Early Access since December 2024.

Drawing heavy inspiration from genre staples like Baldur’s Gate and Icewind Dale, the game offers a rich, nonlinear world where players explore the realm of Nova Drakonia, unravel ancient conspiracies, and shape their experience through a classless system and hybrid combat modes (turn-based or real-time with pause). The Early Access version already includes a substantial middle section of the map, multiple dungeons, biomes, villages, and a branching main questline.
The upcoming May update expands the world even further with the addition of Swordhaven’s Gate Quarter and the sprawling, enemy-infested Sewers. Players can expect mini-bosses, a new acidic “jelly beast,” and new achievements, legendary weapons, and skill-based weapon techniques. The update also polishes existing areas like Smelters Row, adds more interactive NPCs and quests, and enhances visuals and audio, including long-missing item icons and creature portraits.
Beyond content, this update improves quality-of-life features like better controller support, a refined crafting menu, shared weapon mod inventory, and expanded passive skill perks. A full release for Swordhaven is expected for late 2025 or early 2026, but I think this update might be the perfect excuse to check out this promising CRPG finally. Below is an overview via Steam and early access trailer.
Swordhaven is a classic party-based RPG. Explore the land of Nova Drakonia, embark on quests unique to your character, discover mysterious artefacts of the ancients, and unravel a hidden conspiracy that threatens the very existence of the world.
Swordhaven is a fantasy cRPG inspired by Infinity Engine titles—Baldur’s Gate 1, Icewind Dale, etc.—as well as other classics.
You take up the mantle of a lonely adventurer on their way to the barely explored land of Nova Drakonia.
During your voyage, you are met by a dying man who trusts you with a peculiar artefact that will involve you in an adventure of a lifetime, and a plot that threatens everything you’ve ever known and loved.
Some of Swordhaven’s core features include:

A classless roleplaying system: each stat combination provides a unique gaming experience, distinctive dialogues, and novel ways to solve quests;
A classics-inspired yet modern User Interface with large customization possibilities;
A vast, nonlinear world filled with unique NPCs and multi-solution quests that reward exploration, always offering alternative approaches to satisfy any character build;
Dozens of hours of exploration, from quiet village hamlets to hidden temples of the ancients, horrid crypts, bizarre dungeons, and otherworldly locales…
