The world of Cassette Beasts just got a little brighter. Bytten Studio and Raw Fury have released the much-anticipated Sunshine Update (version 1.8), bringing a wave of free new content for players to dive into. Whether you’re a newcomer or a seasoned explorer of New Wirral, there’s plenty to be excited about.
At the center of this update is Sunny, a fan-favorite NPC who now stars in her very own storyline. Once you’ve completed the main story, you’ll have the opportunity to team up with Sunny as she embarks on a personal quest to uncover the secrets of her past as one of New Wirral’s mysterious Landkeepers.
Sunny’s questline also introduces a handful of new monsters, including her signature tape form, Pawper. This large, bear-like beast may look adorable in its costume, but there’s an eerie mystery lurking beneath that fluffy exterior. Pawper isn’t just for show either—its signature move, Bear Hug, allows it to transfer negative status effects to enemies, offering new tactical possibilities during battle. Two other new monsters have also been added, but players will have to uncover them on their own.
The Sunshine Update also brings customizable gliding wings. After recording certain monsters, you can now personalize your wings to glide through New Wirral in style. And if that’s not enough, the new premium Wings Pack DLC offers an even bigger collection of themed wings for players looking to truly stand out.
Cassette Beasts is available on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch and continues to maintain its “Overwhelmingly Positive” player reviews.
