Epictellers Entertainment announced that award-winning actor and director Neil Newbon (Resident Evil Village, Baldur’s Gate 3) will voice Preach in Starfinder: Afterlight, in addition to serving as the project’s voice director.
Preach is a Shirren Mystic devoted to mentoring and protecting the “Golden One,” a larval miracle of Hylax who travels with him. Newbon’s portrayal frames Preach as a calm, seasoned guide on a path to high priesthood, with the character’s fate shaped by player choices across the campaign.
Epictellers also highlighted members of the companion cast that players will recruit during the story. Confirmed roles include Fred Tatasciore as Kole, Inel Tomlinson as Tycho, Melissa Medína as LU-323, James Alexander as Sterling, and Carolina Ravassa as Captain Khali, with additional cast to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Starfinder: Afterlight adapts Paizo’s Starfinder universe using Second Edition rules and places players in the boots of a crew member whose captain has vanished. To prevent a looming catastrophe, they’ll assemble a crew of “charmingly questionable” companions, scour the stars, confront foes wielding both magic and advanced tech, and make decisions that steer the fate of the galaxy.
Built as a story-rich, single-player experience, Afterlight combines party-based progression with tactical, turn-based encounters set across starships, stations, and hostile worlds.
Companions bring distinct roles and personalities to the party, and their interactions, together with the player’s choices, shape mission outcomes and character arcs, including whether Preach fulfills his prophesied path.
Beyond combat, players can expect a strong focus on exploration and preparation: charting routes through the sector, weighing risks, and choosing when to engage, negotiate, or avoid conflict altogether.
The sci-fantasy premise lets technology and mysticism coexist, opening tactical mix-ups where shields and firearms stand alongside spells and psychic abilities drawn from Starfinder’s classes.
Community support continues to climb during the crowdfunding campaign. More than 10,000 backers have contributed over €550,000 so far, and the Kickstarter remains open until November 6, 2025.
Epictellers Entertainment is a Barcelona-based studio founded by veteran storytellers with credits on titles such as Crysis and Ryse: Son of Rome. Starfinder: Afterlight is the team’s debut project, developed in collaboration with Paizo to deliver a narrative-driven, turn-based RPG grounded in the Starfinder universe.
The sci-fi, turn-based RPG is planned to launch on PC in Early Access in 2026 on PC via Steam.
