Sandfall Interactive’s haunting, painterly RPG has quickly become the highest-rated game of the year among critics, and now it has an accolades trailer to show off the well-earned praise.
Set in a world where each year The Paintress awakens to paint a cursed number into the sky, condemning everyone of that age to vanish in a flurry of smoke and petals, Expedition 33 follows one final desperate mission to end the cycle. The writing is emotionally charged (I started crying from the prologue, but that’s another story), tackling themes of love, grief, and sacrifice with surprising nuance, while the turn-based combat system is as polished as the visuals are breathtaking.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Game Pass. Patch 1.3.0 just dropped, adding new challenge modifiers and quality-of-life tweaks. Check out the full notes on the Steam page, below the accolade trailer.
