The time-travel RPG is coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Threads of Time is one of the projects I’m most looking forward to, and just a couple of hours ago, a new trailer was released showing us the long-awaited release window. The game developed by Riyo Games and published by Balor Games is set to launch in summer 2027, according to a new announcement accompanying its latest trailer. The trailer, which was shown during the Indie World Showcase, confirms the release window for the turn-based adventure, which will be available on PC (via Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

Threads of Time is an RPG in the classic mould with pixel art characters and environments rendered in Unreal Engine 5. Combat is turn-based, with a focus on strategy, time manipulation, and team combos to break through enemy defenses.
The adventure sees you traveling across different points in history from the distant past to a post-apocalyptic future. You’ll be the captain of your own time ship and will go on to recruit heroes from all different eras to build your own party to take on a conspiracy that threatens the past, present and future.
At the heart of that journey is the fallen Order of the Time Knights. You have to re-establish the Order and get your crew together to protect the timeline from chaos and corruption as you go, discovering the links between the ages.

With the release window announcement, the team is also urging players to wishlist Threads of Time on Steam. You can join the game’s official Discord, subscribe to the newsletter or register via FirstLook to be kept up to date with any future playtest opportunities. Watch the Threads of Time release window trailer below, and if you want to learn more, I wrote an article with everything you need to know.
