A new Swedish studio, Heirloom Interactive, has revealed its first game, I Want Your Castle, with a short teaser and a plan to crowdfund this autumn.
There isn’t much information available yet, but what little there is, together with the trailer, has been gathered below.
The game pairs turn-based strategy with elements taken from adventure board games. The team says it draws on classics they played growing up.
“This is a passion project where we’re taking aspects from board games we loved growing up, and meshing them with deep strategic gameplay”, co-founder Jakob Tuchten said.
The teaser shows hand-painted 2D art and a self-aware nod to old fantasy tropes. It calls the project an homage to the fantasy of yesteryear. “We’re sending a love letter to the era of fantasy aesthetics when your hero looked more like a dork and less like a fashion model”, Tuchten added.
Heirloom plans a fuller reveal to coincide with the Kickstarter launch in autumn 2025. Until then, details are light. The studio says more systems, platforms, and dates will come later. Here is the official website.
