New month, new Humble Choice packed with great games. Headlining the bundle is Immortals of Aveum, a first-person RPG that I wasn’t personally familiar with, but it seems to have received strong reviews. However, don’t stop there—this month’s selection has plenty more to offer.
My attention was naturally drawn to Griftlands, which is undoubtedly one of the best deck-building games in recent years. It drops players into a crumbling sci-fi world where every choice matters. Whether negotiating out of trouble or fighting through it, deck-building shapes each encounter and defines success. Each run offers a fresh experience as players take on the role of Sal, Rook, or Smith—three unique characters with distinct abilities, motivations, and maps to explore.
Combat is brutal, bosses are relentless, and every ally or enemy remembers past decisions. Players can recruit mercenaries, befriend pets, and manipulate shifting alliances while mastering a deep and dynamic card system. In Havaria, politics can be as deadly as a blade, and survival demands careful strategy, whether through words or warfare.
I know that many aren’t big fans of deckbuilding games, but this is one you absolutely need to make an exception for—at the very least, give it a shot. Plus, in February’s Humble Choice—Humble’s subscription service where, for about $13 a month, you get a curated selection of high-quality games—you’re not just getting the titles mentioned earlier. This month’s lineup also includes the following:
- Immortals of Aveum
- Trepang2
- Total War: PHARAOH DYNASTIES
- Fabledom
- Griftlands
- Tales & Tactics
- Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master
- My Little Universe
As you can see from the list, there’s also Total War, a franchise that needs no introduction. Then there’s Tales & Tactics, which I wasn’t familiar with but looks like an intriguing strategy game. And for those who, like me, grew up with Dungeon Keeper, there’s Naheulbeuk’s Dungeon Master, a strategy game set in the Naheulbeuk universe. All in all, not bad at all for the modest price of the subscription.
