WEBZEN has renamed its turn-based tactical RPG REMORE: INFESTED KINGDOM to MEMOLITH: Forsaken by Light, framing the project around the “Memolith” concept that sits at the center of the setting and story.

Remore Infested Kingdom

The game is developed by a South Korea-based studio, Black Anchor, and is currently available on PC in Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store, where it first launched in October 2023.

The renamed title leans into the worldbuilding that already shaped a lot of its updates. The setting is the ruined city of Remore, once kept alive by a luminant structure called the Memolith. When that light faded and the Memolith shattered, the city collapsed, survivors thinned out, and much of what is left behind is hostile.

MEMOLITH: Forsaken by Light sits in the tactical survival lane. Encounters emphasize careful turn-order play, tight positioning, and resource pressure, with a strong emphasis on making each move count. Enemies can be hidden in dark rooms, and the game plays with detection and noise, so players can try to trigger fights on favorable terms.

Weapons come with their own skill kits, and fights support tools and movement play, like pushing or pulling targets. Even outside of direct engagements, the design calls out enemies that do not simply wait for their turn, which adds a layer of risk to basic movement and scouting.

Between runs, the hideout loop supports progression through crafting and equipment work. The blacksmith role is positioned as a core part of that loop, with crafting and dismantling tied to how the expedition keeps up with escalating threats and scarcity.

WEBZEN has previously described the Memolith itself as a foundation for progression systems and rebuilding themes, with updates restructuring parts of the metagame around restoring it.

The rename is also tied to a longer feedback-driven development cycle. WEBZEN has stated that the title shift reflects the direction that emerged through updates and community response, and that the new name will be applied to store pages in phases based on each platform’s process.

That is why the Steam listing may still show the old title for a while, even as social channels move over immediately.

Alongside the new name, WEBZEN is pointing to a larger official release version planned for the first half of 2026 in South Korea. In that release window, the company has talked about broader strategic options through more expedition building, including combinations of characters with different traits, 130 types of Memolith shards, plus skills and weapons. The same announcement also mentions a three-person expedition structure and exploration across roughly 80 regions.
