Update 6.2 adds Steam Cloud slots, more autosaves, smoother map notes, and tighter combat controls, while Early Access saves carry forward.
Banquet for Fools is lining up its full launch after a long Early Access stretch, with update 6.2 landing as a big quality of life pass ahead of the final push.

The party-based beat ’em up RPG from Hannah and Joseph Games first hit Early Access on September 30, 2024, and the studio now plans to leave Early Access on March 5, 2026.
The team originally aimed for the last Thursday of the month, then noticed that slot landed in the middle of Steam Next Fest, where new releases tend to get buried. Waiting an extra week puts launch on March 5, timed with the studio’s PR outreach.
One of the biggest player-facing notes is save compatibility. Existing Early Access saves will carry through remaining updates, including the launch build. That said, older saves will not fully pick up certain changes that rely on new tracking, including some item adjustments, quest XP tuning, plus encounter and map tweaks.

New saves created going forward will log additional information that is not required to finish the game and is intended for post-launch use.
Update 6.2 itself is packed with usability fixes. The save menu now supports four additional rotating autosave slots, shows player names on the right, and adds three Steam Cloud slots for quicksave, slot one, and slot two.
The map menu is easier for pinning plus typed notes, and players can now chalk draw or erase notes on both local maps and the Invimona map. Inventory management gets a speedier shortcut as well.

Shift plus right click can instantly move an item from a guard’s bag into the alternate storage, or sell it directly to a pedlar, which should cut down on menu friction during long loot loops. There is even a small but very Banquet for Fools feature where you can pet cats to gain a buff, and cats can now be bound via the forest skill.
Update 6.2 tightens combat and controls with clearer party info and cleaner inputs. Ghost followers now show portraits, gems can be ground one at a time, there’s a weapon swap hotkey, V sync labels are fixed, a starting techniques stacking bug is gone, and armor tooltips better explain utilization.

Encounters and AI get sharper too. Enemies chase across rooms and maps more often, allies and creatures pick safer positions using extra danger checks, and exploration uses the best party sight radius. Movement adds a choice for dodge direction, block and dodge are split into separate keys, and controllers now support the expanded menus and hotkey style options.
Post launch, the focus is bug fixes first, then post game modes and more content through 2026, with new maps and adventures planned as free updates. Banquet for Fools is now available in early access on PC via Steam.
