Flatline Studios might sound like a shutdown signal, but they’re anything but idle. Their upcoming cyberpunk roguelite deckbuilder Into The Grid just got a huge new demo update, and it’s hitting hard in time for TurnBasedThursdayFest 2025 (June 2–9) and Steam Next Fest (June 9–16).

Into The Grid has received a total visual refresh. The demo now includes upgraded enemy models, flashy new VFX, expanded scenarios, and a fully overhauled 3D isometric map that adds tactical depth and visual punch. A full upgrade that shows off what the Early Access build (dropping this August) is shaping up to be.
Demo Details: What’s New?
- Enhanced visuals: New enemy designs and a stunning map overhaul breathe life into the cyberspace world.
- New scenarios: More variety and challenge await in this updated dungeon-crawling experience.
- Updated combat flair: Special effects now pack more visual feedback when unleashing powerful programs.
About the Game: Cyberpunk Deckbuilding with a Brain
Set in the gritty digital underworld of the year 2112, Into The Grid is all about outsmarting evil megacorps with a custom-built deck of hacking programs. What sets it apart? A map-based dungeon system, a smart dual-resource combat mechanic that reduces RNG, and a heavy focus on narrative, each hacker has a story to tell and a Faction they represent.

In the full game, you’ll eventually unlock five different hackers, each offering their own playstyle and backstory. The August Early Access version will feature the second playable character, expanding the scope and variety of available cards and mechanics.
Key Features:
- Deckbuilder meets dungeon crawler: Explore, hack, and survive as you push deeper into corporate territory.
- Command System: A dual-resource mechanic that rewards smart deckbuilding and gives tools to manage luck.
- Deep lore: Each hacker belongs to a unique faction in the “2112 Universe”, built out by the devs since 2021.
- Replayability: Meta-progression, card upgrades, dynamic missions, and evolving in-run choices keep things fresh.

The upgraded demo is now live on Steam, while the full game is expected for Q3 2025 on PC via Steam. Below are more details about the game and trailer.
MORE DETAILS
Ever wondered what the love child of a Roguelike Deckbuilder and a Tabletop Boardgame would look like? Here’s the answer: Into The Grid features action-packed card battles and deeply tactical map exploration with resource management.
We designed a unique dual-resource system where each card is played for its effect while simultaneously generating Virtual Memory (VIM), which allows the player to take advantage of even the most suboptimal hands. Use your VIM to activate your Commands during battle and obliterate your enemies’ defenses!
Exploit the Commands – powerful unlockable skills that can be the difference between victory and defeat. Choose them wisely, sync them with your deck, and strategically deploy them for knockout wins.
The Grid is the infinite digital landscape where information lives. Full of riches and dangers, it’s a place where only the sharpest minds can thrive. Experience a layer of depth never seen before in the genre; consider every move as if it were your last because it might be. Fight or flee? Visit this area now or later? Cash in a reward immediately, or hold on to it for an even bigger payoff? The choice is yours, as well as the punishment and the profit.
The Repo is your arsenal, and its program cards, your weapons. Get new Programs as you explore, and scrap your least effective ones to upgrade your best ones. Look out for unique combinations and unlock the ultimate power.
As a hacker, your Console is an extension of your mind and body. Customize it to match your playstyle by unlocking hardware mods and perks. The more you hone your skills, the more options you’ll discover!
Into The Grid includes five distinct characters, each with its own story arc, gameplay mechanics, art, and much more.
