After numerous rumors, the long-awaited first trailer has finally dropped for what could be the spiritual successor to the never-happened-so-far XCOM 3. Introducing STAR WARS Zero Company, a tactical strategy title developed by Bit Reactor and Respawn Entertainment that takes players deep into the rich and iconic universe of Star Wars.

During Day 2 of Star Wars Celebration, we finally got our first look at Star Wars: Zero Company, a new turn-based tactics game set during the Clone Wars. The game follows Hawks, a former Republic officer leading an elite unit in a gritty, character-driven campaign. The teaser trailer was mostly cinematic, but it set the tone for a more grounded and tactical side of the Star Wars universe.
Zero Company marks a big shift from the usual lightsaber-swinging, Force-wielding Star Wars titles. Instead, it leans into squad-based combat and strategic decision-making, a direction fans of titles like XCOM or Fire Emblem like me will likely appreciate. Though gameplay footage was limited, the panel confirmed the game’s focus on battlefield positioning, unit customization, and morally complex choices amid the chaos of war.
Respawn’s track record with Fallen Order and Jedi: Survivor has rekindled faith in Star Wars gaming, and teaming up with Bit Reactor—a studio made up of XCOM veterans—signals serious intent. While Zero Company won’t launch until 2026, this reveal sets the stage for a very different kind of Star Wars experience when it launches on PC via Steam, PlayStation and Xbox. Below are some screens, an overview, and the first official trailer.
