Endless Legend II Release Date

Everything is set for the 1.0 launch of one of the biggest names in the 4X strategy genre. Developed by AMPLITUDE Studios and published by Hooded Horse, the sequel, ENDLESS Legend 2, will officially leave Early Access and launch in its full 1.0 version on September 17, 2026.

The announcement also marks the first time the fantasy strategy series will appear on consoles. Two physical PlayStation 5 editions are planned in collaboration with Strictly Limited, although their precise release schedule has not yet been revealed. ENDLESS Legend 2 originally entered Steam Early Access on September 22, 2025.

Version 1.0 will introduce the Sandshapers, the game’s sixth playable major faction. Described as the oldest civilization on Saiadha, the Sandshapers remember the planet before its surface was covered by water. Their objective is to reshape the changing world and return it to the desert environment they consider its natural state.

Like the existing major factions, the Sandshapers will receive a dedicated storyline alongside their own units, heroes, technologies, and faction traits.

Some of those traits will also become available through the Custom Faction creator, allowing players to incorporate elements of the Sandshapers’ identity into personally designed empires.

The full release will also add Rogue Factions, alternative versions of existing civilizations with different stories and mechanical priorities. The first two are the Order of Zelevas, a conquest-oriented branch of the Kin of Sheredyn, and The Severed Claw, a Necrophage offshoot that can replace its casualties only by enslaving members of other factions.

Despite sharing parts of their original factions’ foundations, both will feature distinct quests, narratives, and gameplay rules.

Rounding out the new additions is the Mangrove of Harmony, a starfish-like minor faction created with input from the Amplitude community. Its content includes a new hero, questline, villages, recruitable units, population type, and additional hero skills.

An Evolving 4X Battlefield

Set on the oceanic world of Saiadha, ENDLESS Legend 2 combines empire management with exploration, diplomacy, faction-specific campaigns, and turn-based tactical combat. Players develop cities, exploit resources, research technologies, recruit heroes, and raise armies while pursuing military, diplomatic, technological, or narrative victory paths.

One of its defining systems is the Tidefall mechanic. As oceans recede, previously submerged territory becomes available, exposing resources, anomalies, and new routes between rival empires. These changes can alter borders and strategic positions during a campaign, potentially opening access to valuable land while also creating unexpected invasion paths.

Battles can be resolved automatically or played directly, with players controlling individual units across terrain featuring cover, elevation, and chokepoints. Each faction approaches warfare, economics, diplomacy, and expansion differently, making the choice of civilization central to the structure of a campaign rather than a simple collection of statistical bonuses.

A refreshed demo is also available, offering the Kin of Sheredyn and the Last Lords as playable factions. The trial covers approximately 90 turns and provides an opportunity to experience how Tidefalls reshape Saiadha over the course of a campaign.

ENDLESS Legend 2 launches in version 1.0 on September 17, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
