Revenge of the Black Prince expands the medieval survival RPG with new campaigns.
Developer 1917 Studios has announced the release date for Heads Will Roll: Reforged – Revenge of the Black Prince. Described as the largest expansion created for the turn-based survival RPG so far, the DLC will arrive on Steam on September 11, 2026.

Revenge of the Black Prince introduces six branching storylines set across different parts of medieval Europe.
Its central campaign follows Edward, the former Black Prince and now King of England, as he returns to Aquitaine, seeking revenge against France and an opportunity to restore his father’s honor.
Other routes place players alongside several notable figures and returning characters. One follows John Hawkwood’s transformation from an English captain into the commander of the feared White Company, with players accepting lucrative contracts and building the mercenary group’s reputation.
Another centers on Arnaud de Cervole, a former priest and notoriously unreliable sellsword employed by the French crown to handle assignments others would rather avoid.

A separate storyline reunites players with Bartholomew and Jeanne as they escape Cambrai and attempt to establish themselves in Paris. Starting with little money or influence, the pair must find work, earn a reputation, and make connections within the medieval capital.
The expansion will also venture beyond France and England. Players can enter the service of Amadeus VI, Count of Savoy, before joining his Balkan campaign to support the declining Byzantine Empire against Ottoman forces. Meanwhile, Grace and Glory return in a continuation of their previous adventures, turning the tables on the mysterious client who placed a bounty on their heads.
Cambrai Receives a Major Expansion
Alongside the six new narrative paths, Revenge of the Black Prince will introduce an expanded version of Cambrai. The revised chapter includes additional quests, characters, encounters, and decisions capable of opening new branches through the story.

The DLC will be accompanied by a free update for all owners of the base game. The patch will add new mechanics, features, equipment, balance adjustments, and broader technical improvements. A complete breakdown of those additions has not yet been released.
For newcomers, Heads Will Roll: Reforged combines choice-driven role-playing with demanding turn-based combat and survival systems. Battles account for details such as weapon reach, character attributes, fatigue, injuries, armor, and proficiency with different weapons. Decisions made between fights can be just as important, influencing relationships, available events, and the protagonist’s chances of surviving the Hundred Years’ War.
Heads Will Roll: Reforged – Revenge of the Black Prince launches on Steam on September 11, 2026, and requires the base game.
