Indie studio Headbang Club has released a major update to the demo of DeathTower, a tactical RPG roguelite inspired by classic JRPGs. The update introduces the Erebus Game Hub, a new pixel-art town where players can prepare for their ascent through the perilous Megaryon. The update coincides with the launch of DeathTower‘s Kickstarter campaign, which offers exclusive digital and physical rewards. The full game is planned for release on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5.

In DeathTower, players take control of Ikarus, a machine operator navigating a massive, parasite-infested megastructure. The roguelite’s combat blends tactical strategy with stealth-based infiltration, allowing players to choose between aggressive gunplay and careful evasion. The updated demo expands on these mechanics with access to the Erebus Hub, where players can purchase weapons, acquire power-ups, interact with NPCs, and choose between over fifty weapons, thirteen unique tower hacks, and two class trees available.
Alongside the demo update, Headbang Club’s Kickstarter campaign aims to secure funding for self-publishing DeathTower. Pledges start at $9 for digital rewards, with higher tiers offering art books, the OST, and physical collectibles like T-shirts and vinyl records.
The campaign runs until April 8th, with backers playing a crucial role in the game’s development. DeathTower’s demo is now available on Steam, while the full game is planned for release on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. Below is the Kickstarter Trailer, which includes an interview with the dev.
