Soverain is a solo-developed pixel-art SRPG centered on political intrigue, squad building, and turn-based battles.
It’s for sure one of the most inspired pixel art tactical RPGs I’m following at the moment, and after years in development, Soverain: An Eternal Legend is now live on Kickstarter. The campaign gives tactical RPG fans a chance to support Jonathan Brassaud’s 2D turn-based project as it moves through its next stage of production.

Soverain follows Conor Lenastie, the younger son of the Lord of Eracline, after the sudden death of his father leaves the realm in a fragile position.
Conor sets out to find his missing older brother, a decision that pulls him into a wider conflict between noble families, kingdoms, and old divisions that still shape the continent.

The game leans into classic strategy RPG structure, with grid-based battles, party management, equipment, class choices, and character progression.
Players build an army, prepare units before combat, and make use of relationships between characters, which can influence morale and the flow of battle. The project also includes larger Titan encounters, giving battles a broader tactical scale beyond standard unit skirmishes.

Soverain is currently planned for PC via Steam, with its release date still to be announced. The Kickstarter campaign is now open for players who want to back the project, follow its development, or help the developer bring more attention to the game.
