Astra Bestiary now has a firm release date. Solo developer Bicho Feo has confirmed that the 2D monster-raising RPG will launch on November 3, 2026, with the date revealed alongside a new official release date trailer on Steam.
The central progression system is built around raising Beasts from eggs, training them, and steering their development through branching evolution paths. More than 100 creatures are planned, with adult Beasts able to develop into different forms depending on how they are raised. The game also lets players ride fully grown creatures while exploring its non-linear world.
Combat is turn-based and party-focused, with each Beast bringing its own skills and traits into battle. One of the more unusual systems is tied to death and inheritance: when a Beast dies, part of its power can survive inside special orbs that other creatures can absorb. This allows skills and traits to carry into later generations, making team development a longer-term process rather than a simple cycle of catching and replacing monsters.
Astra Bestiary Arrives in November
The adventure takes place across the ruins of Yselion, where players document creatures and discoveries in a bestiary while uncovering the history of a fallen civilization. Exploration includes open areas, hidden dangers, Star Trials, character customization, and multiple evolution routes for the creatures raised throughout the journey.
A playable demo is already available on Steam and has received several updates during development, including changes to onboarding, difficulty progression, menu navigation, branching evolutions, and additional character customization options. We previously covered Astra Bestiary in more detail when the project was preparing for its crowdfunding campaign.
Astra Bestiary launches on Steam on November 3, 2026. The game is developed and published by Bicho Feo. You can find the release date announcement on Steam and the game’s Steam page for the demo and wishlist option.
