With over 30 character classes, the tactical turn-based battle system is now refined with new features like “United Attack,” enhancing classic mechanics such as “Glimmers” and “Formations” for dynamic combat options.

Romance of Three Kingdom Remake

The classic historical simulation Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 has returned in a full remake by Koei Tecmo, delivering enhanced visuals and new features to revitalize this iconic entry in the series. Released on October 24, 2024, the game lets players immerse themselves in the turbulent Three Kingdoms era, controlling a vast roster of officers with a new level of strategic and narrative depth.

Building on the “All Officers Play” mode, you can assume the role of any character—whether a ruler, general, or free officer—and shape the course of the narrative over 55 scenarios spanning 80 years. Features like “Destiny” and “Tales” introduce branching narratives, while relationship dynamics, visible in a “Relationship Chart,” influence alliances, rivalries, and tactical possibilities, allowing players to witness complex dramas among officers.

Graphically, the remake combines 2D and 3D elements, including new ink-painting-inspired visuals and specially redrawn officer portraits.

A New Wuxia Turn-Based RPG

The World of Kungfu: Dragon and Eagle has officially launched on Steam, bringing a classic Wuxia RPG experience with story-driven gameplay. Developed by ChillyRoom, this indie game immerses you in the chaotic world of ancient China, allowing you to explore a narrative-rich landscape influenced by martial arts culture, or “Jianghu.”

The game invites you to forge your own path through complex moral decisions, choosing between alliances with court agents or street heroes and grappling with moral compromises that influence the storyline. It emphasizes growth through martial arts mastery, character interactions, and turn-based battles where every choice shapes the world around you.

With over 3,300 reviews to date, the game has received “Mixed” overall feedback, though recent updates are trending positively. ChillyRoom has been actively improving the game with recent patches, including version 1.0.2.0, addressing gameplay and performance enhancements.

Deckbuilding Board Game Debuted On PC

Clank!, the digital adaptation of the award-winning deck-building board game, launched on Steam this week, bringing its high-stakes dungeon-crawling adventure to screens. Developed by Dire Wolf, this strategic game challenges you to sneak into a dragon’s lair, steal valuable artifacts, and make a daring escape—all while competing against other players and avoiding the dragon’s wrath.

Players must build a powerful deck to gather allies, items, and skills, progressing deeper into the dungeon where more valuable treasures await. However, every move risks alerting the dragon, make too much noise (or “Clank!”), and you’ll attract dangerous attention that can jeopardize your escape.

With single-player, online PvP, and cross-platform multiplayer modes, Clank! offers versatile gameplay options. The game includes a tutorial for beginners, achievements, and unique “Heist” challenges where players face global opponents.

A Relationship Indie Tactical RPG

Mycelium, developed and published by indie creator Alex Grim, is a newly released turn-based RPG that immerses players in a hauntingly atmospheric cave system filled with hidden treasures, mysteries, and challenging foes. The storyline unfolds in a world beset by constant war between two capitals, and players guide a diverse team of wanderers through the infamous Mycelium cave, each with conflicting motivations, adding depth to the storyline as relationships are tested and altered by in-game decisions.

The game’s battle mechanics stand out with a defensive focus. Players must protect characters who can be easily incapacitated, raising the stakes of each move. Special abilities are activated through mini-games, allowing characters to perform unique actions like casting spells, lockpicking, or playing instruments, which adds a dynamic twist to the turn-based combat.
