The early-access build of a truly unique RPG just launched. Meet NITRO GEN OMEGA, developed by the Italian studio DESTINYbit and published by DESTINYbit, Amplifier Studios, 2P Games, and Beep Japan. We’ve had hands-on time with it and prepared an in-depth video preview that you can find at the bottom of the article.

In NITRO GEN OMEGA, players take command of a mercenary crew navigating a world devastated by machines, piloting customizable Mechs across a vast, open wasteland. The game blends deep tactical gameplay with a cinematic flair, driven by a timeline-based combat system inspired by shonen anime.
Each battle unfolds through a two-phase system: players issue commands during the Planning Phase and watch the action unfold in the Resolution Phase. Mechs are crewed by four specialized pilots: Driver, Gunner, Engineer, and Operator, each with unique battlefield responsibilities. The game also features permadeath, morale systems, and unpredictable “Dramatic Moments” that heighten tension during combat.

Between missions, players manage their airship base, train pilots, build relationships, and craft loadouts to suit their preferred strategy. Exploration takes place in a large, procedurally generated world filled with cities, outposts, machine lairs, and contracts. With two distinct Mech models, a growing roster of unique pilots, and support for multiple languages.
