XCOM Humble Complete

It honestly makes me laugh just thinking about how ridiculously incredible the latest Humble Bundle is—it features the Alpha and the Omega of strategy games: the title that pioneered the genre and the one that still inspires nearly every strategy release today, and likely will for years to come.

I’m talking, of course, about X-COM, and the jaw-dropping bundle currently available, which includes the entire lineup—from the original UFO Defense released in 1993 all the way up to the latest installment in the franchise, Chimera Squad.

Enemy Within
In XCOM Enemy Within DLC, you can equip your soldiers with a Mechanized Exoskeletal Cybersuit.

There’s probably no need to explain what X-COM is or what it personally means to me—but I’ll do it anyway, briefly. We’re talking about a game that, years ago, introduced the concept of what we can honestly call two games in one: a deeply detailed strategy layer, where players manage their organization by building bases, choosing research paths to unlock new tech, manufacturing vehicles and weapons—and then the second half of the game, the tactical layer, where players command squads in intense, turn-based combat missions. And all of it was incredibly well-executed, especially considering the standards of the time.

In Julian Gollop’s original vision, you stepped into the shoes of a secret global organization tasked with confronting an alien threat—securing financial backing from world governments, protecting civilians, and waging war both in the skies and on the ground. The goal? To salvage and reverse-engineer alien technology in order to close the tech gap between humanity and these otherworldly invaders.

Now, imagine that level of depth and complexity landing in the hands of a kid obsessed with RPGs and turn-based games. That’s the kind of impact it had on me—it didn’t just influence my taste, it hardwired itself into my gamer DNA. Years later, when Firaxis acquired the franchise and released XCOM: Enemy Unknown, they brought back the very mechanics that made the original a legend—managing your squad, your base, your research—and they nailed the same sense of discovery and high-stakes challenge.

XCOM 2
Don’t worry, you are going to land a 98% hitting chance shot…..

So yeah, you can probably understand why I can’t help but laugh at the idea that, for just a handful of dollars—seriously, just a few—you can walk away with every single one of these titles. And I’ll say this without hesitation: this is the best tactical strategy franchise ever made. But enough nostalgia—let’s get into the details of what’s actually in the bundle and how it’s structured.

The Humble XCOM Complete Bundle is an exceptional opportunity because for just $10 players can acquire the entire XCOM series on PC, encompassing 17 items valued at $269. This comprehensive collection includes every main game and downloadable content (DLC) released in the franchise, offering both the acclaimed titles and the more marginal entries.

XCOM Bundle Contents

The bundle is structured into three tiers:

  • $3 Tier: Grants access to the original classics that laid the foundation for the series:
    • X-COM: UFO Defense
    • X-COM: Terror From the Deep
    • X-COM: Apocalypse
    • X-COM: Interceptor
    • X-COM: Enforcer
  • $7 Tier: Includes the $3 tier games plus:
    • XCOM: Enemy Unknown
    • XCOM: Enemy Within (DLC)
    • XCOM: Enemy Unknown – Slingshot Pack (DLC)
    • The Bureau: XCOM Declassified
  • $10 Tier: Encompasses all previous tiers and adds:
    • XCOM 2
    • XCOM 2: War of the Chosen (DLC)
    • XCOM 2: Shen’s Last Gift (DLC)
    • XCOM 2: Alien Hunters (DLC)
    • XCOM 2: War of the Chosen – Tactical Legacy Pack (DLC)
    • XCOM 2: Resistance Warrior Pack (DLC)
    • XCOM 2: Anarchy’s Children (DLC)
    • XCOM: Chimera Squad

All games are redeemable via Steam, making it convenient for players to add them to their libraries.

Compatibility, Modding, and Availability

The bundle is particularly appealing to Steam Deck users and Linux gamers. Many titles are either natively supported or have high compatibility ratings through ProtonDB. For instance, XCOM 2 and XCOM: Enemy Unknown are natively supported on Linux, while XCOM: Chimera Squad and The Bureau: XCOM Declassified have Gold and Silver ratings, respectively. Additionally, the Steam versions of these games support the Steam Workshop, facilitating easy mod installation and management.

Xcom Enemy Unknown
Our soldiers look absolutely badass once we’ve unlocked some advanced tech.

Purchasing this bundle also contributes to a noble cause. Proceeds support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Buyers have the flexibility to adjust the distribution of their payment between the charity, the publisher (Take-Two Interactive), and Humble Bundle itself.

This bundle is available until May 19, 2025. Given the substantial value and the opportunity to support a charitable cause, it’s an excellent deal for both newcomers to the XCOM series and long-time fans looking to complete their collection. Maybe now you’re laughing too…
