The strategy RPG launches with 15 recruitable companions, open-world exploration, extensive character building, and more than 30 hours of content.
Developer Destined Game Studio has released Celestial Descends in Steam Early Access for PC. The indie RPG combines grid-based tactical battles with party customization, crafting, open-world exploration, and roguelike-inspired challenge encounters.

A free demo remains available, while the full Early Access version is being offered with a 10% introductory discount until August 5.
The adventure unfolds in Hunyuan, a fantasy world inhabited by humans, demons, spirits, and other supernatural beings. Its fragile balance is disrupted when mysterious Celestials descend upon the land, forcing players to confront new threats while investigating the motives behind their arrival.
The journey leads through competing factions, hidden regions, and stories shaped by ancient legends and political struggles.

Combat places a strong emphasis on formations, terrain, and the way individual character abilities interact.
Battles can also be affected by shifting celestial phenomena, while a Five Elements counter system encourages players to adjust their tactics. Four difficulty settings are included: Easy, Hard, Nightmare, and Hardcore, with the highest option designed for players looking for stronger enemies, more capable AI, and little room to recover.
Players can recruit and develop 15 companions, combining their talents with rune stones, artifacts, elixirs, spirit pets, and other equipment. Because progression resources are limited, deciding which characters to strengthen and which builds to pursue becomes a strategic choice that extends beyond the battlefield.

Crafting provides further opportunities to shape the group. Materials and recipes discovered throughout the world can be used to produce artifacts, consumables, rune stones, and spirit pets. Some results include a degree of randomness, adding an element of experimentation to the process rather than limiting players to predetermined upgrades.
Once the world map becomes available, players can freely explore additional regions, uncover side stories, encounter supernatural events, and take on optional challenges.
Repeatable world bosses also appear across the map, each featuring its own mechanics and becoming progressively stronger after returning. Away from combat, the current build includes activities such as fishing and cultivating the golden-cicada tree.

The Early Access release contains 19 combat chapters and approximately 70% of the planned main storyline, presented as a complete narrative arc rather than ending midway through a major sequence.
Together with side quests, challenge content, multiple explorable regions, and recurring bosses, the developers estimate that the current version offers more than 30 hours of gameplay. English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese are supported.
Destined Game Studio currently expects Celestial Descends to remain in Early Access for around one year, although that schedule may change depending on development progress and community feedback.
The finished version is planned to complete the main story while adding more companions, late-game areas, expanded progression systems, and additional challenge modes. Combat balance, localization, map content, and progression pacing will also be refined during development. Celestial Descends is available now in Steam Early Access on PC.
